Reviews
Beautiful Day
The course was very nice. great fairways and fast greens. Playing pace was around 4 hours no rushing or waiting. The Co owner was very rude to us because we booked through you. Very disappointed be cause we " aren't supporting our local course" I have never been treated this way by a course we booked through you. When I noticed that he was rude to us and my team mates I asked him if he was upset because we booked online and he went off.
pleasant surprise
The layout was high quality "old school" with lots of mature hardwood trees requiring good shot making and Donald Ross type greens that "spit" your ball off if hit in the wrong location. i was pleasantly surprised at the quality and value.
I was, however, not thrilled with the service. i had driven about 50 miles to play this course for the first time. The owner met me with a sneer and was very unpleasant when he found out i booked on golfnow. he felt i wasn't supporting my local course. well, it wasn't my local course.
Great Course for the money
This was my first time playing this course and I will definitely be back to play again. The course offers some really challenging holes but not too difficult for a beginning golfer. Fairways and Greens were in great shape and I had a great time. Can't wait to go back!
great day off
This was my day off weather was excellent course was in great condition. The greens and fairways were nicely manicured.
A great course to play
Shadowood is very enjoyable course to play. Good greens and multiple tee boxes.
One of southern Indiana's best kept courses
Their fairways looked much better than most others in this area, that have burmuda.
Worth the drive from Louisville
Course is in great shape. I got hot deal for 15, normal price for that Sunday was 45. I dont like paying that much for golf as I am not that great of a player, but probably would for this course. Only complaint I could have is the cart paths are a little rough, but who cares.
7/4/2014
They are working on the course to repair bald spots. Overall in better shape than last time I played a year ago.
Great deal for $$
Course was in sketchy shape with several locations in the fairway marked as ground under repair - mainly on the front 9. Although the area had recently received a large amount of rain, the fairways were being watered which made them very wet in places - we had to play lift, clean and place.
Overcharged
Did not honor the agreed to price. Many fairways in bad shape. Played behind three very slow men. After 3 1/2 hours only had played 12 holes, we quit and left.
good course to play
First time playing at this golf course. It was a good course to play .. Little slow pace but over all I would play it again ..
Enjoyed the Day
A short drive from Louisville. 4.25 hour round. Very nice facilities. Fairways need some work, but to be fair, the very cold winter damaged many local courses with Bermuda fairways. My group will come back.
Shadowood
The greens were really good. The fairway grass didn't survive the harsh winter. There is patchy grass, and then they ran the sprinklers making mud. This can be a really nice course, and if you can tolerate the sparse grass in fairways and move your ball to a patch to hit off of, you'll be fine. I have a hard time recommending this course till they fix the fairways.
This course Is excellent
Carts in rough only...fairways still wet from rain...greens and rough in great condition, some bunkers need some sand but where maintained, when the fairways come in this course will be great place to play.
Challenging yet still fun for the bogey golfer
Shadowood is a very well maintained course. Although the Bermuda grass fairways have already went dormant the course is still in great shape. I highly recommend this course for players of all levels
A fun & challenging course
This was a fun course to play & well maintained. The challenge is there for a good golfer but it also is not overly difficult for a moderately skilled golfer, very playable. Consistency of tee shots is important and then around the greens your work isn't done; crowns & subtle contours require solid decision making & shot execution. This is a course I'd heard about for several years but never made the time to play it. I'm glad I did & will definitely return for another round soon.
shadowood in good shape
the fairways and greens are very good. some of the holes are unusual if you have not played here before. the price was right.
this course is worth the ride
fairways were just beginning to turn green, and the greens were just a little hard. hard to get a ball to hold, but this is the early spring and most courses have the same problems at this time of the year. the overall layout is beautiful, and in 2 to three weeks this course should be perfect. I will be going back to check it out. definitely will be going back. it is a very nice course and overall I was impressed, thanks guys it was a good day.
I am very sorry about your experience. Give us another try and I know your next visit will be outstanding!
