Sugar Ridge Golf Club
About
One half of Sugar Ridge Golf Club is situated in extreme southwestern Ohio while the other half winds up into the Indiana hills. The border location may be unconventional but the setting provides a dramatic backdrop. The course sprawls across rolling hills that are abundant with wildlife. Wild turkey and deer have been known to roam the golf course. The layout has a few parallel fairways though the trees, and hills give each hole a completely secluded feel. The back nine feels more open than the front, but that may only be because of the ponds and lakes that come into play on many of the holes. Throughout Sugar Ridge Golf Club, golfers will find that the par 3s are fairly straightforward and the par 5s have sloping, uphill fairways that make them feel even longer. There are a few memorable par 4s, notable for both their scenery and level of difficulty.

Fun and Challenging course
The course was in great shape and had tee locations to challenge the low handicapper and be assessable to the high Handicapper.
Unique challenge
How often do you get to play 3 par 5,s in the front 9.Never.Challenging ruff and course lay out make for an enjoyable round.Staff is kind and attentive to any concerns.
Nice Course
It had been a few years since I played here. A housing project has greatly expanded and the course layout changed dramatically, not for the better. A couple of holes had extremely long distances between them. However, it was well signed. Still, a very nice place to play. Staff is great. The course is a little better than average. Some of the cart paths are rough but no big deal. Even with some backups on the back nine still under 4 hours. I will be playing it again soon.
This course was nice
This course was nice pretty well kept up as far as fairways and greens tee boxes needed a little work the ride between some holes were very long and the cart paths were horrible all in all it was a fun course
Cart paths rough.
Course in overall good shape tee to green.
Sand traps need work and all of the cart paths need to be redone, very rough.
Good course-good price
This course is usually in good shape. The Golfnow price is what makes it a nice bargain.
Always a great round at Sugar Ridge!
I live over 20 miles away and play this course once every two weeks, layout is fun and the staff is super friendly! Never had around over 4 hours also a plus, I will continue to go back to Sugar Ridge!
Sugar ridge is convenient and good value
Our 4 some had a good time. Course is nice. Location is convenient. Good value
Needs work
Play this course frequently but was in the worst shape I have seen it in quite some time. Rough was very high not cut and dandelions were everywhere in the rough. Lost many balls And also found many balls in the rough due to those conditions. Hopefully this was just an isolated incident
Staff is super friendly!!!
As I mentioned above the staff is super friendly which may have led to the slow pace of my round. There was one particular group that was 2 in front of me that were extremely slow. My round of golf lasted almost 5 hours because of this group. I believe the workers riding the course were not asking them to speed up their play. But on the flip side I was with my wife on her first time out golfing, so the extra long time just meant more time spent with my love! Thanks Sugar Ridge for our experience.
blah
The rough was no different then I'd say maybe Augusta lol... the course set up seems kind of twisted and backwards... I play the course cause it's close and golf now has it cheap, but the course charges $32.00 I believe without golf now, and in the $40.00 range on weekends, my opinion the course is only worth at the most $22.00 to play... clubhouse isn't bad, staff isn't bad, but if u play this course and pay full price u will not be happy about it, js...
Dandelions
The older guy in the pro shop was awesome, knowledgeable and friendly. The course lay out is a mess and the dandelion problem is crazy. I lost a good 5 balls in the "fairway." I have no idea how there isn't a flipped cart everyday with those cart paths.
Soggy Play
It had been rainy most of the week so the course was not in very good shape. It was cart path only so it took my foursome 4.45 hours to play.
Every hole has a different layout
Nice course with every hole having a unique layout. Plays shorter than what the scorecard indicates. The course is in relatively good condition but is well maintained. Buckers could use sand. You need to pay attention to arrows directing you to the next tee. They have weaved the original 9 holes with the new nine holes. There are long drives between several of the holes. You must use a cart for this course.
35 minutes to get checked in
God bless the older gentleman that was working the front desk. He's probably a veteran a grandpa to many grandkids. But he doesn't need to be checking people in or handling the credit card machine. We had 8 people in front of us and it took 35 mins to get checked in... Absolutely ridiculous . With that rant over I always enjoy sugar ridge. Good layout and in good shape for early March. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were in good shape. My only complaint with the course would be the cart paths. Might need a chiropractor visit after the round. Very large pot holes and gravel all over.
