Sugar Ridge Golf Club
About
One half of Sugar Ridge Golf Club is situated in extreme southwestern Ohio while the other half winds up into the Indiana hills. The border location may be unconventional but the setting provides a dramatic backdrop. The course sprawls across rolling hills that are abundant with wildlife. Wild turkey and deer have been known to roam the golf course. The layout has a few parallel fairways though the trees, and hills give each hole a completely secluded feel. The back nine feels more open than the front, but that may only be because of the ponds and lakes that come into play on many of the holes. Throughout Sugar Ridge Golf Club, golfers will find that the par 3s are fairly straightforward and the par 5s have sloping, uphill fairways that make them feel even longer. There are a few memorable par 4s, notable for both their scenery and level of difficulty.

4 stars
Course was in okay condition. Love how they added new sand to the bunkers. For the price I will continue to golf here.
Poor conditions, pooly run
Sometimes you get what you pay for. The low price was the only good thing about our experience. I have never seen greens as marked up as these greens; ball marks and cleat marks everywhere. There was no starter which explains why we teed off 15 minutes after our scheduled time. The course had a mixed couple outing on the front nine at the time of our booked tee time so they sent us off of the back and told us we would have to wait on the turn for the outing to go through. They had an outside bar for concessions but the bartender had to go inside to get the beer and then back inside to run our credit card. Just a bad experience.
Love playing there.
I have always played well at Sugar Ridge - love the special deals I get on Golf Now.com
This course needs some TLC
The condition of the tee box, fairways, and greens were subpar. The rough looked like it hadn't been cut in weeks.
Sugar Ridge
Fairways were cut short, lots of roll. Greens were being worked on with sand, that should go away in a couple days, but seemingly late in the season.
Great course!
Tough course with a lot of relaxing scenery to sooth the punishment that this course can bring to your score card.
Value
Great value for the Golf Now price. The course has an odd layout and has golfers crossing other holes to get to tee boxes. Bunkers are mostly not maintained or have low quality and levels of sand. But for the discounted price would play again. Staff is extremely friendly and waited for us to finish an early evening round on a Sunday.
Been better
Fairways were a lil burnt. Greens were a lil bumpy. I've just seen the course in better condition before.
Rude management
The course was in decent shape but the staff and management are extremely rude and disrespectful, blaming us of doing mischief on the course when we did no such thing. He only asked us because we were a younger group. He didn't ask anyone except for us. He also got extremely vulgar and angry with us. My group of friends will not be back anytime soon.
Rude and Unprofessional
I just finished playing a 6 way, which the worker in the pro shop was aware of and okay with. When going to pick the front or the back 9, we chose the back due to the front nine being backed up. We had 6 people, and were trying to take our time and not hold up any golfers behind us. We were asked to split up which we obliged to, and played very quick. After we were done and loading our clubs up, we were approached by 3 rangers, with a score card that had profanity written off of it. We were rudely accused of doing this and leaving it on the green, and when we denied, we were also scolded for taking the back 9 without permission. We attended this course at least twice a week, and they just lost good business for being unprofessional and rude.
Beautiful views
Hilly, scenic course with great vistas and some unique holes... Friendly, helpful staff... Course is all chopped up from the original layout! Impossible to walk since you keep skipping back and forth from original front 9 to the back 9. No flow. Some long rides from greens to tees...
Picturesque and challenging course...super friendly staff.
Picturesque and challenging course...super friendly staff...would definitely play again.
Placement Golf
Excellent golf course, you must control your ball to play this course well. Some of the most beautiful holes in the area.
There is a lot of elevation change on this course and I would not even think of walking this one.
Always a treat
Always a pleasure to play this course. It was in good condition considering time of year. I will be back.
Weekday Fall Round
Played a morning fall round on a sunny brisk day. Course had been aerated two weeks earlier and we found fairways and greens back to normal conditions. Fairways were well grassed and greens held shots and rolled true. Got a great price on Golf Now and when arrived at course found out it was customer appreciation weekend and received a free lunch. That was a very nice touch to finish off a great day. Course was not crowded and we moved right along completing round in under 4 hours.
Beautiful course always a treat to play
The course was in great shape and as always somewhat challenging. But the scenery is beautiful no matter what time of year you play it.
Definitely one of my favorite courses in the area.
Great fun
W have played this course many times over this summer and really enjoy. all of the above is true.
Great times
I had a really good time. Paired up with another twosome who were a lot of fun. No wait on any tee box and just a spectacular day
Nice course, cranky staff and poor cart paths
Played on a Sunday afternoon and had a good round. Long distance between holes and sometimes you crossed over other holes and tee boxes on the way to next one. Zoysia fairways very nice.
