Hunters Ridge Golf Course

My adult daughter and I were golfing on Memorial Day. Just got to hole 6 green, when 3 teenage boys approached us from a distance asking us if we wanted to “place a wager”, we declined and left the cart and went to the green. The 3 boys then went directly to our cart and started rifling through it (wallet and cell phones were in the cubbie). I started walking toward them telling them to get out of the cart and move along. They went between houses then and proceeded to taunt a dog behind a fence. We encountered a young boy with a lemonade stand going to hole 7, he was crying and said those boys stole his money. I called the clubhouse to report the incident. They said they would have someone come out to check on things. I called the next day to speak with the manager, left a message and my contact info and no return call. Even friends who are long time members let him know what happened on the course and that I was upset with what transpired. Disappointing that there was no follow through from the club manager.

It would be nice if the clubhouse leadership was more friendly. I booked a tee time and went to check in and he just tossed the cart key to me without an hello or anything. And the rangers and starters could be trained on managing play.

The layout is great, with a complete mix of types of holes. You can occasionally get some pretty harsh bounces that turn good/decent shots into penalties, but there aren't many.

The bunkers need A LOT of help and some are being filled in/turned in to grass bunkers--good move!!

It's very apparent that very few golfers playing anywhere fix ball marks on greens anymore so hard to fault the course for that--this track gets quite a few outings and those folks don't fix anything.

Nate (pro) is absolutely the best, and his staff is very helpful and friendly. Green fees are very fair and with a little investment from the owners for the conditions, this would be the best course in the area, by far.

Great course to play. Just short drive from CR. Got paired up with a couple from Michigan, which were fantastic company. Course was in great shape greens varied from hole to hole, but that just made you concentrate better. Wildlife was present and majestic. Staff was super nice and round came with warmup bucket of balls.

Challenging but fun golf course with no two holes the same but different tee boxes allow those of different skill levels to have a great experience. The Head Golf Pro Nate is as good as you will find anywhere and is always so courteous and friendly plus his staff will treat you the very same way. You’ll enjoy your experience at Hunters Ridge.

I have played hunters Ridge many times and it’s one of my favorite courses but it’s probably in the worst shape I’ve ever seen it in the cart paths are awful they’re taking out sand bunkers and haven’t fixed them yet the sand bunkers they do have a little sanding them this course need some money put into it and I guarantee you golfers will come back

I have been in the golf business for 42 years. It was in great shape for this early in the season in the greens ruled exceptional. We are with the superintendent is he is doing a outstanding job.

Hunter's Ridge is a very nice course through some neighborhoods, not many holes do not have houses on your left or your right.

The front nine is pretty fun and gettable, green speeds were very good but could tell it was end of season and greens had lots of ball marks. The par 5 2nd is a fun risk reward hole, probably would play it safe when all the native grass is up. The par 3 4th hole mid season would be an awesome looking hole, great green with sand in front and behind protecting the short par 3.

Back nine starts off fun but once you get to 12 and 13 and have water all along one side is not fun to me. Never a fan of water all down the side of a hole. 14-16 is an awesome stretch. With 2 great par 3s and a risk reward par 4. Closing hole is a nice finish to possibly a good round.

Course was in very solid condition considering how much rain they have not gotten in Iowa for months. Definitely wanna see it in the summer next year.

I was recommended to play your course by my brothers neighbour while I was visiting from the uk. The booking on line was easy and I got a tee time that was on offer. All the staff was helpful and friendly, the. Course was in good condition and was testing as I had never played it before. I can’t wait to go back an play next year when I visit my brother again.

Thanks to some of the members that helped with directions to next holes and letting me play through as I was playing on my own .

I usually go golfing with my wife at Hunters. I book my tee time using GolfNow app. The staff is very friendly and maintains the course in a good shape. Hope I will go golfing there again soon

great course layout,recommend anyone to play the tips and come away with an under par round,very challenging!! the greens are extremely nice and run true.

Course is challenging and worth the money.

Staff is unfriendly EVERY time we play there.

Very homogenous feel - if you’re a white male, you will feel welcome.

Most golfers refuse to let twosomes play through even if they are holding up multiple groups behind them.

Ranger either non-existent or won’t address pace of play.

A very misogynistic environment, unfortunately.

The pace was too fast. We had others hitting balls on top of us. There was three of us and we had people hitting balls on top of us 5 different times. I have been to many other coarse's and have not had that happen that many times in 18 holes. Ground was too hard the balls would bounce more than what a person would want. Tee boxes were way too hard because I had trouble putting a tee into the ground, looked like they watered everything but the tee boxes. Several tee boxes had way too many divots looking like there was no attention paid to the tee box's for several days. Looked like to me that they were trying to cater to a certain group of people and the coarse did not show to me that it was not on the higher end of a golf coarse. Staff was great, place was clean. Will not play there again, too many other coarse's that are in better shape for the price. Owner(s) of this coarse should go to other coarse's to see how other place maintain their coarse's.

COURSE IS IN GOOD CONDITIOM AND EVERYGHING WENT ABOVE NORMAL FOR US

It was out 1st time playing and we will definitely be back!! Great course and staff!
