Painted Hills Golf Club

For being so early in the spring the course wasn't bad at all. Staff was nice, greens were in good shape, and pace was spot on

First off, do not book tee times through the golf shop. They do dynamic pricing online and that's the best route.
They made some changes to the course during the 2012-2013 winter and it's taken a while for all the grass to grow in to good length and lush. But it is looking better this offseason.
Is fairly open with the removal of trees, with traps added in key areas that make it more of a challenge than it used to be. But hit the fairways and you'll be fine.
For a good, fun easy time on the course with out a very high price, I'd suggest Painted!

....made it a difficult day at Painted Hills. Enjoyable but the course needs attention. $32 about right, comes with a cart.

Most of the fairways are weeds and rock hard, most of the "rough" is dead grass or dirt. Greens were just sanded, so hard to tell how they were. Played this course a year ago and it was in much better shape. Looks like they havent watered it much or at all this summer. Even for $10 "hot deal" it's not worth it.

Do not spend the money going to this course. It is not worth it even if it was free. There is no fairways. The course is not taken care of. The marshall's are horrible. I would not recommend this course to anyone at all. I am from OKC and was in Kansas City with a friend while they went to a convention for work, I went and played golf. I figured that I would be able to get something decent for the money. Not expecting too much since it was so cheap, but, boy was I in for a treat! Horrible, Horrible, Horrible! The pictures that they post do not look anything like it is now. Those must be years old!

course had alot of updating in 2012 and early 2013. Some holes still have issues with quality of grass in the fairways. The greens were great though. Great weekend price with cart. No driving range on-site but does have practice green and chipping area. Once some of the changes take full effect in 2014 the course quality will improve.

Narrow fairways tough on beginner golfers. If tee shot ends up in rough, not much grass....many weeds. No practice range.

Course is in good shape. I would recommend Painted Hills to my Friends.

Granted I haven't been playing long enough to have experience on a lot of different courses, Painted Hills is probably my favorite course. They do a great job with the grounds. One of the fairways finally got scorched by that extreme heat last week but I can't really complain about that. The course is pretty short so a good drive will really set up a good score. My best scores come at Painted Hills hence the "easy" rating--although I don't consider any part of golf "easy". But good scores make for a fun round which is why Painted Hills is probably my favorite course (that I regularly play).

Love the changes to this little muni. It will add to the play for years to come. Once the grass grows in on the fairway changes, I would have no complaints about this course except the following. The pace of play was awesome for our foursome until we got behind three of the marshals from the course itself. Then the last three holes took nearly an hour to finish. We even had to play over these guys once we reached the green on 18. They sat in their carts, just to the west of the green, talking about their round like we did not exist. Hope the course isn't paying these guys for their time and overall poor sportsmanship.

The new course layout has much to offer and is worth giving it a go. The greenskeeper has been doing a great job but still has a lot to work on with some fairways and a lot of the rough. That being said, the course plays well, pace of play is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Of course a free beer at the end of a round would be nice, I hope that they will be thfirst to introduce that custom.

Reserved twosome. They put a third with us. Maybe we just wanted two! At the turn, the Marshall let a foursome go in front of us on the back nine! We were not happy about that!

Enjoyed the course. Liked the new greens. Renovation was not as extensive as I had heard; some upgrades aren't complete, but this didn't affect play. Bad thing was slowness. Course is pretty tight, so you often have to wait for players on the next hole or two playing in your fairway.

This course was frustrating and not because it was a good challenging course. The fairways was like hitting off a closely mown backyard lawn and were rarely ever close to flat. Dirt patches were regular and many greens were under sized. The yardage is actually on the shorter side which is a nice change of pace and narrow fairways make it nice that hitting irons off the tee will still put you to be set up for an 8 iron or less into the green on most holes. However the ridiculous angles that are necessary to hit to pull off multiple blind shots due to the slopes of the fairways and the grass in the fairway and "rough" aka same as fairway was so poor it just led to a rather frustrating round. Greens did not hold anything and fairways were so hard multiple times a shot would hit short of the green kick on to the green and roll all the way off the other side. If you can get a deal it may be worth it, but even with a deal I don't plan to play this course again.

This course has great features and is fun to play.

this was my first time on the course since the remodel. I think the new layout will increase my rounds played at this course.

Greens are in good shape, but some of the fairways could use some attention. Good course for you and three of your buddies to have an enjoyable, inexpensive round.

I like the improvements. Next year the course will be mature enough to take advantage of the new fairways.

Horrible conditions, couldn't tell the rough from the fairway. People infront of us were extremely slow and would not allow us to play ahead. Single man behind us was hitting into our group after every shot. Even though it was cheap I will not return to this course
