Good Course...great golfnow value!
One of the best courses in our area. All-around well maintained and challenging. Love the wildlife that is always present in the late afternoon. Thanks to golfnow for the discounted green fee.
KDV
This is a great course. Very challenging. Greens and fairways in great shape considering the amount of play this course gets!!
Challenging State Park Course
The greens were very soft and receptive. The pace of the greens was slow, but they tolled pretty smoothly. 2 fairways had been reseeded recently due to the harsh winter, not bad considering what we've experienced in Middle Tennessee.
Average if your in the area
I have been trying different state park courses in Ky and I had high expectations due to the area this course is located. I was disappointed with the course layout and condition of the fairways. The first hole has 2 other holes side by side on each side of the fairway. It is a poor job of splitting the holes up. There were 4 holes where you could not even drive on the fairway due to the ground being dirt and not grass. This course is not comparable to Pennyrile or Mineral mound state parks.
Slow play
The course was in great shape. One of the few that I've played this year that the fairways weren't burnt. The greens fantastic. My only complaint is they should get a ranger that does his job. A foursome teed off right ahead of us. All four hit at least two balls on most every hole. It took almost an hour and half to play the first four holes. Frustrated I stopped the ranger to ask him to speed them up only to be told that that pace was about right for a Saturday
Great course
Old man winter played havoc with the Bermuda grass. 16 of the 18 fairways were brown with little to hit off of. This is a beautiful course. We have played it many times. Hope the fairways come back.
Rough winter
The fairways are in rough shape. Very little grass makes shots much tougher than the course would normally be.
We got stuck behind a 10-man scramble for a while. Didn't offer to let us play through and no marshal. Guys driving around in fairways marked path only.
Not our best experience.
