labor day round
The grass is high everyplace, the fairway grass is like the first cut and the rest is ball hiding high. A late afternoon round also had lots of spike marks on the greens so bad you couldnt make a putt of any length. The staff was friendly and attentive and that saved the day, but the need to mow badly and roll and mow the greens as well.
Tough pin placements
The pin placements on the undulating greens were described by my group as "sinister". It made scoring extremely difficult. Actually had an uphill put that stopped and inch from the hole and then rolled backwards two feet before stopping. The course was shaggy in the fairways and very thick in the rough. We lost a few findable balls to the rough that desperately needed a mow. All water jugs on the course were empty (played early afternoon) which was a bit frustrating. This course was tougher than I remembered and also in worse shape. It really is a beautiful and natural course, but I think I'll try someplace else next time.
Open with some challenging holes
This course provided a nice variety of holes with wide ranges in difficulty. Overall, it was well kept and an enjoyable experience.
Overall Pretty Solid Course
The course honored the price. The greens were in good shape, but some fairways had not recovered totally. Lot of bare spots but you always had grass close to hit off of. Enjoyed the round.
Course did not honor the agreed upon price
I booked my tee time earlier that day and upon arrival at the course they would not honor the agreed upon price. The price was $24 plus GolfNow's fee which I paid upon booking. I presented the course with my GolfNow reservation showing that $24 was due at the course, but they refused to honor it.
Great greens
Beautiful greens, some parts of a few fairways (bermuda) have damage from rough winter but overall in great shape.
I'll be back
My senior friends and I had a very enjoyable day. Eagle Creek is, indeed, an excellent public course. I wish there had been more of a food selection. But the course itself was fine.
Great experience!!
Great experience just an overall great tough course! Fast greens and fresh water on any if the holes
interesting layout
A few easy holes and a few tough. Currently, they are having to repair the spots of Bermuda lost during the winter. greens a little long to hold up for the hot weather.
Getting better every year
Great course and great layout. The fairways are greening up nicely in June after a tough winter and I'm looking forward to the new tee boxes. The course has gotten better every year that I've played it over the last 6 years. New Tee boxes, new landscaping, new sand in the bunkers, etc. The staff is dedicated to improving the course and they are always working on something. Great value.
Very nice place to play.
I love playing there because there are no houses around just nature. I can concentrate on my game.
SLOW
There was ONE Foutsome holding up everyone. No Marshall.
Great piece of property. Back Nine weaves in and out of a forest . Very Nice.
Slow Greens.
Eagle creek
Excellent course. Very scenic. Challenging for a golfer at my level (beginner) Had a great time.
Bermuda still dormant
Bermuda in fairways still dormant. Many bare spots. Don't know if this will fix itself this year.
Great value for the money, interesting layout
Course has been improved since I last played it 10 years ago. Nice piece of land, especially towards the back of the course. Fairways are still dormant (May 2nd), but greens are in good shape and rest of grass is nice and lush. Great value for the money (paid $15 to ride).
Great corse for the money
For early May I was hoping the fairways would be in better shape, but if you want a great priced round look no further. For the money you can't go wrong. Looking forward to playing here again this summer. The course has a great layout and is will challenge most golfers each time you play. One odd thing is there were no ball washers, those would be nice to have available.
Good test of golf
Nice playable course. Greens were in good shape. Fairways are improving but still patchy from the hard winter. Tee boxes could use some work.
On #17, stay on the upper plateau, because hitting on the down slope is challenging with the lake behind the green.
oldham
Best course in Kentucky. Best staff. Just join, its worth it.
It's still early
Eagle Creek is usually my favorite course in Louisville Ky. However on this outing the conditions of the course were terrible. It is very early in the season and most of the blame is on the recent weather but it was ugly.
Potential
Honestly, the course has huge potential and I'm sure in the real "golf weather" it's gorgeous. We played on a windy, super windy, conditions but at least it was warm enough to hit.
The course was brown, and with that you lose some balls even if you hit it in the fairway. But all in all, I can tell it's a beautiful lay-out. I'll definitely be back when the weather gets better.
Oh and staff is super cool, I even got a golf cart stuck in the mud being a dumb kid.
Great place..
