Love the downhill dogleg to a water surrounded gree
Nice Course With RUDE Ranger
Course was in good shape with fairways clear and fast greens. The only negative was the ranger who was very rude and nasty to me and my guys I was playing with. He kept told us to hurry up when the course was stacked on every hole. He then kept watching us like a hawk like we were trying to steal something from the course. Finally after the front nine we didn't see him anymore thank goodness!!!
Nice layout with a few challenging holes.
Our group of four played on Memorial Day, and the pace of play was excellent (under 4 hours with a stop for hot dogs at the turn). The greens were in good shape, slow but consistent. Few of the greens are flat and some have great undulations that make for challenging putting. The fairways are typical of a muni, not perfect but always a decent lie. You will want to find the fairways as often as possible because the rough is quite penalizing. It was so tall that it was difficult to find your ball (this slowed the pace of play appreciably). Once you found a ball in the rough it was difficult to get a clubhead on it. The bunkers were filled with a material that isn't very forgiving, maybe a 1/4" of loose stuff on a very firm base. There are some holes that are quite challenging (250 yd par 3 over water!), and first-time players might be pleasantly surprised with the outcome of errant drives on a few of the doglegs (as long as your ball is heading in the direction of the green). There is no driving range. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Maintenance makes the difference - great course!
Poor conditions had plagued this venue for many years - not the case any longer, the ownership has made great progress in green, bunker and fairway conditions. Challenging layout that demands use of every club that you brought.
#1 and 18 are somewhat disappointing starting and finishing holes but the rest of the course is a great layout.
Much improved course!
Haven't played here in years due to poor conditions. Was pleasantly surprised. Greens were faultless and fairways were also coming in very nicely. Always loved the layout and now the current conditions will have me returning.
