Best course in town! Because it’s the only one.
I’ve been playing this course for about 16-17 years. Back in the early 2000’s was a great course with a great staff. The last 5 or so years it’s all down hill. Staff is rude and uppity. Arrived shortly after open (no tee time) wasn’t a soul there besides staff. Was given guff for not having a tee time, reluctantly they let me play. Apparently they were booked up “because it’s 75° even though it was only 42° at the time of my arrival. Never ran into a soul on the course. Finished 18 in about an hour and a half around 930 still barely anybody in the parking lot. Played behind a group of 12 last weekend nothing was done about them, never let us play through. Mentioned that coming off the 18th in the pro shop their response was “you should’ve called the club house.” Well somebody did call the club house and nothing was done about them. They never change their rates during off season, they want to charge you full price all year round even when the course is in garbage shape 80% of the year. Was considering getting a membership next year since I’m on paying more frequently, not now. Don’t play here when there are much nicer and friendlier courses in nearby cities.
Fun and relaxing day of golf
I'm a member at Wild Turkey Trace and my high school golf team had practice there everyday, so I'm really familiar with the course. It's not the most difficult course ever but if you're looking for a fun and relaxing round of golf, you've found the right place! The fairways have been a little rough lately but as long as you don't go into your round expecting a PGA tour quality course you won't be disappointed.
This course was not too challanging but "FUN"
On the first hole I thought I had wasted my money, but it got a lot better starting on #2. The yardage of the holes fits the average player, I will play their AGAIN.
Marginal Golf
Nothing special here. Small Greens rather grainey. Rough fairways, some severe slopes. Play at a bargain only.
Pleasant Day of Golf
Fairly open fairways (a.k.a., almost treeless) helped my wife and I stay out of trouble... for the most part. Fairways were cut short, fringe and rough were playable, but like most courses bunkers were hard because of recent rains. Cart paths need more gravel or paving. Only two holes presented challenging water hazards. A few tee areas were not well marked which sent us hunting after finishing a hole. Better signage would help guide a newbie.
Although we were scheduled to tee off at 1 a charity scramble delayed us briefly while a twosome asked to finish out their last 3 holes. After that we moved right along.
Course was perfect for our length of play and driving distance from the white and red tees, which made our scores comparable to other Par 71's we've played.
Overall, a pleasant day of golf.
Great
Great place to play for a great price will be back very soon
busy day
We came on a day of a club tournament. Would have enjoyed it more it things weren't so busy.
Wild turkey
Decent course. Greens very good fairways fair. Great value for two players playing for $26
Nice Course
The course isn't long but it ahs some challenging holes with creeks and trees.
Greens
Greens are perfect! I was a little confused with the layout but it wasn't busy so I figured it out.
Fun but needs work
Played this course on June 12th and found it to be a fun little course. Being our first time on this particular course we had to fumble our way around a little bit from hole to hole as we were unfamiliar and that can be a problem sometimes. On one hole we were headed for what we thought was our green only to find it took a sharp right turn in an unexpected direction. Would be nice to play again now that we know the course a little bit. The course has some pretty fun holes and there is also some beauty to the course but it's pretty short too. Biggest problem right now is that the Bermuda fairways were hurt badly by the severe winter we had this year leaving some bare spots and/or dried out grass. I see no way it will get better this season but you can see it would be a fun course to play now and then if they get it back in shape. Played at a discount rate from the internet this time so felt we got our money's worth and had a good time but wouldn't play here if I had to pay full price, not under the current conditions. One other negative is that they allow smoking in the clubhouse and if you don't like that (I hate it) you won't want to spend much time in there.
Great layout
Greens are in very good condition, fairways still dormant, bunkers need some work, but will play again when the grass comes in.
Fun course to play.
Super friendly staff makes you feel welcome. Nice restaurant. Course in good winter condition. Some tee's moved to winter locations but not bad. Greens in good condition and putted consistent.
Great value, a real no-brainer
I used to play there once every week or two but for some reason, this year I've only been able to play it twice all year. They have this place ROCKING! It's clean, well manicured, and the greens are extra nice for a public course, I just love it.
If you haven't played here before do yourself a favor and go, you will be glad you did. And, if you're lucky enough to get a GolfNow value priced tee time, that's a real NO-BRAINER, you have to go!
this course is super to play all 3 will play this course again soon
tee box were in great shape as well as fairways putting greens pristine as good or better as any courses we have played. we have played a different course most ever week from april to september so far jrl
It was a great play. 2 issues, course drainage and greens.
The greens were not in good condition for such an early tee time, but it may have been due to the rain the day & night before and may have been too wet to safely work on them. The course drainage could be better. All the bunkers had several inches of water. Since I am by far a good golfer and play often, it was good for me, but if you were playing a competitive round, not so good.
Nice Course!!
Had a very nice time with friends. The course was in great shape and not crowded. Played at a very nice pace.
Great Value. 3 Hour 18 hole course.
The course is going through some early fall maintenance at this time with the aeration of the greens. At the time I played on 8/19/13, only one hole out of play.
No, no, no
I played on July 28, and the weather was perfect. The golf course was pretty pathetic. The fairway grass was as long as the rough cut at many courses. The greens were like a shag carpet, approximately the length of a fairway cut. The layout is cramped and not terribly interesting. You will likely encounter some very slow players and a few balls sliced over your head from adjoining fairways or teeboxes.
I would not want to return to this course, even if I got a free round.
Play weekly. course is in its best condition in many years. The greens are excellent, fairways are great for Bermuda and bunkers are well kept and very playable. Would recommend playing.
