The Timbers at Troy

Good course but be ready that pace of play is not great and is not managed well. It is a nice layout and the greens are well manicured. I walked the course and there was not any mobile attendants or water around the course so that was not great considering the $100 coat for a round.

Course is in terrible shape as of 6 September, 2025. Currently cart path only, and full price is unacceptable.

I’ve played timbers 2-3 times a month since may. Great layout and fairways were decent but the tee placements were horrible this week. We had to move just to get a somewhat flat area to stand and the grass was really chopped up. I know a lot of courses have been having issues but just figured someone would pick the best spot to tee off. Otherwise , me and the guys live this place.

Course took a hit during the Summer with some fairways a little rough! Slow play unchecked.

It has been pretty dry recently so no idea why this course was soaking wet with soggy fairways. We left after the front 9. The starter was acting like this was a premium course and bothered us about our pace of play while we were about an hour and 20 minutes in and teeing off on the 7th hole while it was cart path only. For the price there are much nicer courses with starters that don't bother you during your round for genuinely no reason other to make himself feel special. For a few dollars more I’d much rather play Blue Mash or for less money and better conditions and layout just go to Fairway Hills, you will get more for your money at both of those courses undoubtedly.

I get it. Many local courses are having problems with course conditions due to weather. Timber at Troy used to be a beautiful course. I have played here more than 10 times in the past 5 years. Greens are punched, sand everywhere--not even pushed down in the holes on many of the greens. Thick rough--at least a week overdue on mowing. CART PATH ONLY and has been that way since JUNE. Pro shop said if you call direct and book it they tell you that but if you book on GolfNow they have no way to contact and let you know the course conditions. I'll be back but not this year. Friendly staff as always.

This was the worst $66 dollars I ever spent. The fairways were all burnt out and we had to play front nine twice and the greens were punched but they actually were rolling good

I drove all the way from Woodbridge, VA to play at this course and to find out it is a Cart-Path-Only .. think the course could at least mention something like that on the Golfnow.com so that buyers knows what their dealing with .. please do a better job with this kind of issue

Ive played here 5x or so over the last 2 years. Greens were still nice but it was cart path only cause the fairways are torched and burned up bad. Price was a little high for the condition.

The fairways are burned out and greens have grass growing on them. The course is over priced.

They need to lower rates until they can repair the course

The greens, fairways, and tee boxes were in the worst shape I have ever seen. They still have the audacity to charge premium prices. I will not play here again unless something big changes. I love the course layout and I had my first ever eagle here on 17. Just sucks the shape and price.

Went to play course booked on golf now app it didn't say when I booked it was cart path only . Found out when I arrived to play .It was a 100 degrees that day , cart path only because water issue of course that needs to be redone, hasn't rain for days , very disappointed will leave this course last on my list
