About
Black Rock Golf Course may be one of western Maryland's newest courses but it's located near some of the country's most historic sites. Antietam Battlefield and Harper's Ferry are just a few minutes away from this scenic course. The opening holes of the layout are tucked into the Shenandoah Valley while the back nine climbs uphill, offering views that stretch across the Appalachian Mountains. The golf course has plenty of holes that will please long hitters, but mature trees and thick rough frame most of the holes, demanding accuracy. Traps protect the front of most of the greens and you'll come across dramatic undulations on some. The par-4 13th is arguably Black Rock's toughest hole. This sharp dogleg right has a massive tree to the right as well as a pond right in front of the green.

Excellent condition
Pretty long & hilly. Well maintained. Enjoyed the challenge & avoided the trees this Yr. No inside bathrooms while clubhouse being repaired.
The day we played was cart path only, no problem. They just aerated the greens, no problem, a necessary maintenance. There were just two of us,no one in front of us or behind us. We played in three hours. Enjoyed the course very much.
Fix the toilets
Similar to the other reviews, only two uncleaned sani-pots for the entire course. You can do better.
Black rock
Course was in pretty good shape. The clubhouse is undergoing renovation so no amenities were available, only sani pots. That was understandable, but having the on course bathrooms padlocked I felt was inexcusable.
Also pace of play on the back 9 was terrible. Not a Marshall did I see.
First time!
A very nice course, well laid out. Too bad it was cold and oh so windy! Will return!

December Fun!!!!
Course was in great shape for mid December!!! Pace of play was great and they’ve removed some trees in order to open up the course more. Greens are in good shape and the reads stay in tact
Love this course
Had a nice outing on a cool December day. Great looking course. Played with some friendly strangers and we had roughly equal abilities and that is always great. Back 9 seemed a little more challenging and because of that was more stacked up with more players for slower play. If the other players who caught up to us gave us more space we would have played a little more faster. Seemed to affect everyone’s game negatively if you’re feeling rushed. Unfortunately for me I was just visiting the area and otherwise would player here more often.
