Love Course
This was my first ever course and now this was my 2nd time playing it. We got a super hot deal so I couldn't help myself and snatched that up. I will play this course many more times. It is a short course but it is great to work on your short game.
Nice challange for any golfer
Great course for practicing your short game and driving your ball on the par 4 holes can be challenging. You really have to hit your ball straight. My only issue is you can't bring your own drink you have to buy there. That's the first thing they told me when I drop my bag and had a cooler with me. Will reserve go tee time next week.
Great short course!!!!
keep in mind... this is a "short course" instead of a couple par 5's they have par 3's and par 4's instead. with that being said... this course if great!!! very challenging with dog legs and other hazards strategically placed. also several major elevation changes make it more challenging to gauge distance. staff is very friendly and course is well kept. great for working on your short game... play here often!!!
Really slow
This is a par 62 course and it took 4.5 hours to play - it was awful. I talked to the started and said that there were 3 groups waiting to tee off on a hole and he said "so what". They don't care about pace of play - this place is for the hit and giggle crowd, not avid golfers.
Great par 3/4 course
Great course for my first outing of the year. Challenging par threes and some decent par fours to break out the driver on too. Not crowded or hurried during the week so very relaxing.
Nice executive course
Willow Springs is short according to the scorecard but is still a very good place to play. There are 10 par 3s and they are interesting and challenging ( no par 5s). The par 4s are average in length and some require forced carries and/or have narrow landing areas. The course is walkable and has a number of elevation changes and water features. This course is definitely worth a try.
Tuning up
This is a great course for tuning up your game. It is tight, so unless you are a straight driver it could present some challenges
I love this course
I play this course with my wife, who is a beginner. She enjoys the 62 holes vs 72. Great way to work your short/iron game.
Great executive course
Had an excellent time for my first visit to the course. The staff was friendly, the greens were well kept, and at most a 3 minute wait on the last 5 holes. The golf cart's breaks were kind of sketchy, but that made for a fun drive to each hole. Overall, I would go more often it it wasn't so far from my house.
Not bad for practice and if you are in time crunch.
This is an executive course 5 min from our house. Go to driving range there with the kids. Don't usually play there because I don't like playing in executive courses but for what it is, it's not bad. The drainage is not good on the first 5-6 holes but the rest seems fine. Layout is decent. Course isn't that crowded so pace was fine. More relaxed atmosphere unlike where courses get so crowded and tensions rise. Would probably take beginners out here to learn. The only thing is costs. Relatively speaking, the greens fees sometimes cost as much as some of the regular courses during certain times of the day. Of course then I have to pick the regular course that is farther rather than here. Perhaps a different fee schedule in the afternoon for twilight might help. Also some family deals like the county courses, where it costs only 10 per person for a child / parent combo in the early evenings. I know of 3 other child parent off the bat that uses this deal all the time. Again overall it is not a bad place. You have to take it for what it is, an executive course. The only thug I would change is the pricing schedule.
Cost Vs Value
I played this course for the second time(first was last fall) and found that the price you pay doesn't match the value you receive. This is a executive course as it doesn't have any par 5 holes. When I played, the fairways were very tall as we just received about 4 in of rain 3 days before. I didn't count this in my review because they were playing catch up like most other courses. Most holes played well and are a bit challenging but the issue is what they charge. The greens fee are 45.00 to ride on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This is way to much for what you get. Other courses in the area offer more and charge the same of even less. I did like the course but wish the would charge a rate that matches the course.
For the iron players
Short course, but fun. Green were in great shape. The round was very slow close to 4hr and 30mins, for it's length it was a little annoying. Overall, I would play here and recommend it for the average golf.
