Best April Conditions in DC for Public Course
All aspects of the course were in great shape - tee boxes, greens, and fairways. Excellent value this time of year!
Great course, some bumps along the way….
Great round of golf for the first outing of the season. Had a great foursome. Teed off on time and only had to wait a few minutes on each tee box until 17….then it was back up 5 groups! Seemed like some junior PGA tournament was going on, but not sure…my tee time was originally 12:10PM but got bumped an hour to 1:10PM due to the tournament…they threw in free range balls…I paid through the GolfNow app (first time using it), but they charged me at the course until I realized it and then it was a bit of a run around to get it refunded…food is priced very high…not worth buying. that said, I’ll be back, and bring my own food.
Almost Lonks
There were a few holes that could have been played off the path but understand the process.
Still in good shape
Great deal with the golf now hot deal. Course was still in good shape. Workers were top dressing the tee boxes. Only negative was the water coolers were empty after the gps screen said there was water on the course.
Great Course
Played this course for the first time with a buddy of mine who lives in DC. It was a bit of a drive for me from Northern Virginia but completely worth it after I played there. It was a brisk windy day with the average being about 40 degrees. The wind made this course a little tough but I enjoyed the challenge and so did my friend. I couldn’t believe how great this course still looked early into November with the grounds crew still spotted working on a cold Veteran’s day. I’m very thankful for those guys and how good of a job they were doing. The greens were quick and the fairways were healthy. I liked the challenging layout of some of the holes as well, made for a very fun round that me and my friend could enjoy fully on a day off work. The only thing that was bad about the whole day was the traffic I ran into on the drive home, but that’s 495’s fault not the golf course itself. I will definitely be coming back here and bringing more friends to show them this hidden gem.
Incredible course when conditions are perfect - like now!
My third time playing Blue Mash in 2 years. The conditions right now (October 2025) are perfect. The tee boxes, fairways, rough, and greens are amazing. The greens aren't rolling too fast - but are quite challenging. Not a beginner layout - I'd suggest playing it forward when selecting tees to play. Challenging, beautiful & fun.
Fun course in great condition
First time playing here. A bit pricey, but all courses are pricey now (especially early on a Saturday). Absolutely loved it. As an 18 handicap I appreciate a lot of upscale courses but they are not as fun as they are way too challenging. Blue Mash was very playable from the white tees but the course was in great shape and has a great design.
Regarding Tee time booking
I booked Blue Mash Golf Course through GolfNow.com for $89 per person on September 1 at 9:10 AM. However, when I arrived at the Blue Mash clubhouse, I was charged $139 due to Labor Day pricing. I ended up paying $50 more per person than what I reserved through GolfNow.com. Can this be resolved through GolfNow?
Inconsiderate
I've been to Blue Mash before and really enjoyed it. A few of us went here around 7:30 am on a Tuesday in August and the grounds crew / keeper were super inconsiderate. We played about 4 - 5 holes in the sprinklers, three of them after I called to let them know. They also had those high speed blowers and mowers running right next to us while we were on the fairways and greens a almost every hole with no regards to us playing. Then, I left at least 3 -4 new balls behind because I didn't feel like getting wet with sprinkler water that stunk like fertilizer. I don't normally mind extra noise and distractions but this was a bit over the top. The staff inside was great and one of the other staff members kind and gave me three $10 coupons and a couple ball markers which I appreciated. I later got to thinking it wasn't really fair compensation considering the overall conditions during our quick 2 hour and 45 minute round.
Great course conditions!
Blue Mash was in fantastic condition. Worth the price, especially if you take advantage of GolfNow discounts. Crucially, they also have a grass driving range. Amazing for warm ups. The course was challenging, but not in a way that was frustrating. The staff was very friendly and their facilities are in great condition.
Great course
So many Virginia courses are burned out by a brutal summer, but Blue Mash is great!
