Pleasant weather and fun courses
I often use this place, and I can play fun golf on each course. The slope is so severe that you have to go down carefully. This place is the pride of our neighborhood.
high slope value
From check in to finishing the 18 holes, our 3some was disappointed. We expected more from a "National Golf Club". Lots of blind holes without bells to ring to indicate you're finished on the green. We literally were having trailing golf balls on the green while we were putting. Very dangerous. Greens were in good condition but everything else was pretty much pasture golf. Good luck in the rough. Then we also encountered serious slow play. Anyway, way less than expectation. But we enjoy golf no matter.
Slope City
This was a fun course to play. The slope by itself was challenging enough. Loved the greens throughout. Well kept and challenging. I suppose the weakness was in the slow play. 3x groups lined up to tee off on the same hole. Did not appear to be any Marshalls around to keep the pace going. 2 impatient young men almost hit us 2x on their approaches, not caring who was in the fairway or not. Lack of bells for blind holes doesn't help. But the course was scenic and challenging.
Awesome day.
Everything about this place is beautiful.
Great staff, friendly and always welcoming.
Course is well kept, moves at a good pace.
Overall one of my favorite courses.
Needs help.
Beautiful layout but it's as plain as day the owners don't put any money into the course. Just about everything needs updating or fixing.
Love this course
Honestly one of my favorite courses to play, especially for the price. The course is definitely not long, but forces you to be strategic. The staff is very friendly and professional, even wearing matching polos, nice touch. The facilities have been nicely updated. And something that probably goes unnoticed, but amazed me, was the drainage on the course. I played a day or so after a big rain storm, fully expecting it to be cart path only. When I checked in I was told it was 90 degrees. Once out on course, pretty much everywhere was already dry. I always look forward to playing here, even though I’m 45 minutes away and have dozens of courses closer to me.
I shot an 83, which is 12 shots under my best round ever!!! That sure solidifies the special place in my heart I have for this course.
Lots of hills and challenging greens
1st time playing would play again. Follow book concerning course to be successful. Stay in middle of fairways.
Slow pace
Pros: Course condition, staff friendliness
Cons: tee boxes need work, pace of play was terrible. Started by hole 5 and by the back 9 was waiting 10 mins on every tee box.
Westminster Wins!!!!
The course was in great shape and the layout of the course is challenging but not over the top difficult. Greens were taken care of and the elevated tee boxes were a nice addition but they could use some maintenance(more turf). I will definitely be going back and tackling the par 3 where the green is elavated above the tee box and plays about 200 yards. It reminds me of the 10th hole at Blue Ridge Shadows in Virginia...very challenging.
