Acushnet River Valley Golf Course

I play Acushnet 3-4 times a year. Played on a cold day in November but the course was still in excellent shape. Greens rolled as good as ever. And the hot dogs were great at the turn!

Booked a hot deal 5 days before my round, only to find out golf now head double booked the hot deal. Was force to pay full amount and golf now did nothing to accommodate, or even credit my account for their mistake. Called 3 times, and each time was more embarrassing, then call before.

The people in customer service there suck beyond words!

Frost delay put off tee time for one hour.

Our group waited and we were rewarded to a very enjoyable round. Course in wonderful shape.

Fair and challenging track. Incredible course built in 1910.

I thought course was fair. Early holes are easier and reachable (GIR). Variability in course design with Front 11 in the woods, while back 7 wide open.

Close to 5 hrs. On a weekday is ridiculous. Slowest course around. They have been overbooking tee times for years now. They just can’t figure it out. Time for new management!

I've played Acushnet on several occasions and every 1 has been enjoyable except one. I love the 2 different layouts and you in for a surprise when the course changes. The bad experience was playing in a tournament that was in the middle of a drought season where the ground was so cracked and dry it was cart path only.

This course is in excellent "shape", meaning fairways, greens and bunkers are well maintained.

that said, the setup was "score repellent". Every single pin was inside 2 yards of the edge and the greens are tiny. further, many holes are right on the edge if "treelines" where a shot a yard over the green is a lost ball. Last, and most problematic is hole 16, which plays into the tee box of 12. its dangerous. the best driving line is right at the middle teebox of 12. you can't see people tee off as the teeing area for 16 is behind a hill.

lots of "driveable" par 4s (3 holes inside 300 yards from the teebox) are why the course is so short, but zero run makes it play long. they aren't drivable at all.

Slowest course ever played. They take the enjoyment out of the game. Over 5 hrs to play 18 holes. They continue to overbook tee times. They are more concerned about revenue than they are about the experience.
