About
Maplegate Country Club sprawls across 150 acres of gently rolling hills that are blanketed with forests of stately maple, oak, beech, and white pine trees. The golf course is situated just off of I-495 along the border between Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Although the location is seemingly isolated, it’s conveniently only 45 minutes from Boston. The course plays harder than it looks with a diverse layout that will test you with a variety of different shots. Maplegate Country Club's front nine features more target-style golf but you'll get to pull out your driver on the back nine. There are some tough holes, but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper. The variety that the golf course offers made it the natural choice to host U.S. Open Qualifiers in both in 1998 and 2001.

If you have a scramble, you have to tell non-participants
Booked a 6:14AM on the 4th here. Made the turn in about an hour and forty five minutes. About to tee off on 11, and a random 4some hops out in front, followed by foursomes on every other tee box. Nice 3 hour back 9 and about 10 minutes of waiting before every shot was awesome. I have come to expect this kind of bush league antics from MG. Got stuck behind an 11. Yes, 11, on the par 3 15th last year. Shame on me for coming back.
Well maintained and challenging
Very nice course. Rather challenging if you don’t play there often. GPS in the carts would be helpful.
Fairways and greens were in excellent condition even after the rainstorm from the night before. Although carts were path only as expected to start the day and as the day progressed the fairways opened up. Overall good experience, lots of lie changes on every shot!

Great course with one small issue
Fantastic course for the value. Well maintained with beautiful features. Very challenging but rewarding when you make good shots. The only issue I had was pace of play course was jammed which is understandable the only issue was on one while the ranger gave us a hard time about our pace of play as he darted back and forth between our carts and driving straight up and down the fairway as we hit and allowing another group to hit into with one ball landing a foot from one of us. Other than that highly recommend
