Great day for golf
Perfect weather for a great day at Halifax CC. The course is in perfect shape with the greens running fast. True private course experience. Don't pass up this gem.
Fun experience
Booked a somewhat last minute tee time at Halifax to avoid the heavy rains further south. I really liked the course and the staff was super friendly...especially since it's a private course that seems to have just started opening a few tee times to the public.
The course has a good layout that's challenging but you can miss in certain spots and not get killed by it. The greens were awesome. Definitely want to go back...wish I lived closer and I'd probably look into joining! I'm pushing my friend who lives down the street to get to work on that.
Great condition
I'm from the south and this was my first time playing up north. I was amazed by how great the fairway and greens were. I didn't love the layout of the course but it was okay. Amenities were not much but the golf course as really good. I cannot imagine anybody not enjoying this course.
Fun private course that you can play now
We had the opportunity to play this course literally by ourselves. The date we chose to play the course happened to be during tropical storm Jose and there was no one else on the golf course. Other than the beauty of having a three hour round we also really enjoyed the layout of the course and the condition. With some slight elevation changes, tree-lined fairways and tricky rough around the greens this course made for a great challenge. If you hurry, you might be able to play this course as they have some rounds on golf now at this time. I spoke to the pro and the reason they're putting some teetimes on golf now is to increase exposure and possibly increase membership. He said the promotion is actually working and it's brought in some new members. As for the course, I really enjoyed the fairway which were in great shape, the greens were average speed and the long back nine made for a true challenge of golf. The course plays almost 6500 yards from the whites and 3300+ of that is on the back. Get out and play this course while you still can
Fun challenge
I had only played here during a charity event. Finally got out to play a real round. This is a simple challenging trouble in front of you golf course. The greens are fast and the average approach shot is long if you are not a bomber. Full range, chipping and putting available. Dog leg lefts and rights. It's very enjoyable and was not busy at all on a Thursday morning. The only negative is the finishing hole. It's just long and straight no elevation or bend.
Country Club of Halifax
Great course. Good value for a private course . Fast, true greens with a nice variety of holes. Halifax is one of my favorite courses on the south shore. Excellent clubhouse with a friendly staff. I would recommend this course for anyone looking for a challenging and we'll manicured track.
Jsternh
A nice golf course. Narrow with firm conditions but very playable. A nice facility with good warm-up / practice areas. Not many great holes but overall, a solid golf course.
This course is a well maintain course, on the long side from the white tees, which I found very enjoyable to play. Greens were surprisingly fast , considering we had a heavy rain come thru, would definitely play this again. Staff was very cordial, and accommodating .pro was very nice .
Very enjoyable course
Course is in excellent condition, challenging without being impossible to score on...nice restaurant and 19th hole. Te times are not always available, take advantage when they are!
Very nice
Well conditioned course, greens were excellent. Wet in spots due to recent rains, but very playable. Shortish par 5's, nice range, all in all a pleasant day of golf.
Great Sunday of Country Club Golf
We took a deal off Golf now to walk Halifax CC on a Sunday Am. Would have paid full price. This club is A County Club atmosphere at its best. Members, staff and course all first rate. We played w two members who were so friendly and helpful in playing the course The course is in tremendous shape especially the greens. Fast and true. If you don't pay attention you can three putt from 10 feet. Back nine has many memorable holes. 10,11 are fantastic. Course is long so bring ur game. Definitely a must play
Great Day for Golf
Course was in great shape and offered a challenging layout with some longer par 4s and longer par 3s. Greens were awesome. Great pace of play as it's a semi private course so not much clutter or waiting at holes.
Quite Nice All Around
First time playing this course. It is private and lucked out with a GolfNow time. Everything was excellent. We played a bit slow due to the other twosome we were hooked up with, but the course pace of play was excellent. Plays a bit long from the back tees. Not a lot of hazards/water to deal with, but as a first time player it was fairly challenging. Course staff, restaurant, pro shop all extremely friendly. Definitely will return.
Great deal
Course was in good condition. Greens were still bumpy from aeration but not too bad. Great layout with friendly staff.
By far the best greens I have ever played on
Although this is a private course, I've had the pleasure of playing as a guest several times. Never in my life have I played on nicer greens and the fairways are also in pristine condition. I was so excited when I saw I was able to now book a tee time on Golfnow. I spoke to the pro shop staff and they told me that they are only offering only a few non-member tee times which is great because you will still be able to play any day without it taking up six valuable hours of your time like at a public course. Every round I've played there has been under 4 1/2 hours. I don't play enough golf to justify a membership but now that I can play there without a member, this is the only course I'll play.
