Olde Scotland Links at Bridgewater

Very friendly staff.

Overall great course reasonably priced, course fairly well maintained.

Slow play of no fault of the staff.

The course was in decent shape considering Bridgewater has a TOTAL water ban!! We played with 2 other golfers and had a good time playing with them.

What was once a beautiful lush course has dried out fairways the edges of the greens and even some greens themselves are turning brown. You can blame the dry heat or lack of rain but this is the same problem every year once mid summer hits. When I go play another course that is in beautiful condition public or private I can not understand how Scotland Links can not prevent these happening to the course every year. It's a beautiful course with a beautiful layout but myself and others will get tired of playing burnt out fairways, brown greens and dried out edges!

I enjoyed the round. Mainly becasue it was mid-70's and overcast and shot an 83 with 3 lost balls. The greens are showing some wear, the traps interestingly have some larger river-rocks from the size of a dime to a half-dollar. Didn't impact my sand shots as I simply moved my ball or the rocks away.

Played with 3 locals who say the course has been in better condition but it just as good if not a bit better than a few other public courses in the area. The lay-out can look deceiving, but it was not that bad if you taylor some of your shots and keep the driver in the bag. . You don't have to be a long-ball striker to score well and hazards are lurking but not as bad as it looks. All my lost balls were from real bad miss-hits. Pace-of-play was 3 hrs 55 mins, with a 2-3 minute wait at the tee or fairway at each hole before our next swing. This is a very popular course and its pretty much crowed from 1st tee-time to around 2PM. Overall, I recommend this course, but don't expect perfect conditions as the summer heat and lots of golfer rounds have started to take its toll.

Also not having any real noticeable residences along the fairways made for a nature-only type feel. Finally , there are quite a few holes that play well for right-handed slicers so they don't lose their ball ( Adjacent fairway) and still have opportunity to make par after the slice. Happened to me twice and I scored a +1 on those two holes which would have been a lost ball each time at many other courses.

There was a large outing prior to my tee time which the course didn’t plan well enough for. Tee times were delayed roughly an hour because of lack of carts. I asked how that could happen and they said they allowed some people in the outing to take their own cart. I’ve never heard of a course allowing that because as we know, courses only have so many carts, right?

The guy checking in tee times in the pro shop wasn’t helpful at all but we ended up getting our round in before sunset thankfully. I’ll play here again because it’s a great layout, always in solid condition but they need to plan better.

Apparently they forgot to book 30 people and all the tee times were pushed back an hour. It’s now an hour past my tee time and I’m still waiting. They also said the round would be discounted and still charged me $80, so apparently they discounted $2?

We had a great time golfing at Olde Scotland. We moved right along and didn’t have to wait hitting off the tees. Due to a total water ban in Bridgewater , the fairways and greens are not getting watered and are in tough shape

One of my favorite courses when I return home for a visit. Challenging layout in great condition. Friendly staff. Only issue, I teed off at 7:30 and there was no place to get a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. So stop before you get to the course.

I’m a fan of Olde Scotland Links. As a once a week golfer on average and mid handicapper, I like the challenges that this course presents. From the white tees, it’s not super long but all the normal things like bunkers and blind shots exist. Great day for golf on Sunday! A few greens had some dry spots due to our lack of regular rain this summer. They ran pretty true in my opinion. As I note in the title, give and take. I might say the course gave me 13 holes of great play and I gave a lot back on the final 5. As good as I played, the humbling nature of the game caught me with my water tee ball on 14. Stay right! stay right! It was downhill from there but I walked away with my first sub 90 round at the course. If you’re looking for a fun round, I would recommend this course. Have fun and hit em good!

The greens were dry and lack of grasses in many of the greens - perhaps from the heavy rain in recent days. For the pricy green fee, I don’t think it was worth it. Until they repair the greens, then I would come back.

Olde Scotland Links is a solid track, but the group in front of us was walking very heavily and really messed the greens up. Some of the greens were in tough shape, which is not normal for Olde Scotty.

So the greens were bumpy and they are usually smooth as glass.
