Nice course.. but rushed by rangers
First time playing here and the course was in very good condition. Golf carts are a little rough but not horrible. Front 9 we had to wait at the tee box on most holes which is expected on a Sunday. When we hit the turn the group in front of us left which opened up the course. We were in a 4 some and we had a group of 2 behind us and 3 behind them. The rangers started pushing us to play faster because according to them we were 2 holes behind the group in front of us and holding up the people behind. They had a ranger with us the rest of the day even after we caught up to the group that was supposedly 2 holes ahead of us then we had to wait on the last 3 or 4 tee boxes. Other than the ranger situation everything else was good.
OK because it was cheep.
Clubhouse is a modular trailer, no water or beverage cart and it was 94degrees many unfinished projects on the fairways and the cart paths are potholes and washouts. The greens were decent and it was half the price of Atkinson CC
Good Value
The course is in good shape but the club house is a little rough.
Good condition
Course was in pretty good shape, greens were nice, a few of the tee boxes needed some love, one was closed for repairs. Early tee time and played 18 in under 3 hours. “Restaurant” was closed before and after my round.
Good day
Wish there was a driving range for a little practice before hand. There was a fair bit of challenge on the greens. Very slopped. Map looks intimidating based on tree lines but this course is fairing forgiving. Felt a little rushed as the slots were close and people behind us were waiting often but the people in front of us were usually finishing up as we pulled up to the tee box. A little strange driving through peoples back yards at one point but there were plenty of signs to point the way. Great day all around.
Very good course
They put alot of work into the course over past few years. Starter is a great guy. Price is just right
Tough Shape
First time playing at this course. Person behind the counter was less than friendly. Course was in tough shape compared to others in the area. Pace of play was slow with rangers on the course but not moving people along.
First time out, early ice of the season
Pro shop attendant a little to abrasive abut returning carts at a certain time.
Best Value Around
Conditions were great for the time of year, I maintain that Crystal Lake is the best value course in the area. This course will stay in the rotation.
Needs improvement
The course conditions is yet to improve, probably due to weather conditions.
