Horrible
Place is horrible. Crabgrass fairways, burnt out greens, & gravel and weeds filled sand traps. Go somewhere else people. They should be embarrassed to charge $60 to play there with the coarse in that condition.
Bad value
There wasn’t a starter to direct golfers. A delay with tee times began at 9:30am. The pace of play was horrible. Our golf cart died on the course. We informed the only staff member available and she didn’t seem to care at all. They have software installed in the golf carts that limits where you can drive them and simply defeats the purpose of having a cart at all. The only value it had was providing shade. There was trash on the course and random beer cans and debris in tee boxes. There was a significant lack of trash cans. In addition the fairways were in desperate need of watering. I golfed at this course because it is nearby but this was most likely my last time golfing here. $71 for 18 and a cart was a joke.
Horrible
Horrible course for the money. I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but this place was so bad I felt I needed to steer people away. There are many public courses far nicer for the money. They literally should be ashamed to charge $60 for a round of golf. Let’s start with the carts automatically shut down if you dare to drive on the crab grass filled fairway, making you go in reverse to go back onto the cart path. Greens are mostly burnt and dried out. Course layout is a bit confusing. Twice asked the 14 year old rangers where tee boxes where and they could not even answer the question. Sand traps are literally gravel filed weed traps. Don’t waste your money here people.
Dump
What a mess! Tee boxed were thick ruff. Fairways had dandelions all over. Greens had WEEDS growing, very lumpy and slow. Charged us $59!!! We didn't realize the mess until we went out to the 2nd hole. Never going back.
Many better options
I won't get into how poor the course is, but I will not be playing there again because of how rude the staff is. Double charged me, put me in the middle of a league, and then blamed me even though I asked several times where to tee off from. If you're looking to golf in Lakeville go to Poquoy.
Not Worth the Price
This course has so much potential, it's a fun, challenging layout and the staff are nice people. However, it is just so, so poorly maintained that it's really just, sad. Brown grass all over the greens, with random weeds and bumps all over the place. Some of the greens are completely covered in goose droppings that ruin your chances of a clean putt. The sand traps are covered in weeds and grass, tee boxes are in real rough shape as well. Look, if I paid maybe $30 for the round, I wouldn't of complained, but for $55 twilight tee time, you can play any number of other local courses that are in much better shape for the same money (maybe even cheaper!).
One piece of advice: If you do go here, BRING BUG SPRAY. The mosquitoes are brutal out there.
Really hope this place invests in a solid groundskeeper next year and gets this place back in shape. Like I said, so much potential for a great course, it just needs some serious TLC. When i dropped off my cart at the end of the round, they had a really impressive maintenance shop for their equipment, so they have the equipment, probably just not the right staff to run it.
Lakeville was once a decent course
2nd time playing here in a month. Now I know why golf now was discounting it big , horrible fairways grass was growing in strange places on fair ways. Rough was pitiful. Greens were mostly poor shape golf carts with gps wasn’t working. Heard this place was sold and no longer gonna be a course and it shows thank god it only cost me $21 for 18. About $20 too much a lot better courses around
Terrible Shape
The whole experience was a disaster. They didn't have a starter, so groups were jumping in front of others. We went off at least 20 minutes late and it look 5 hours and 10 minutes to finish 15 holes. They were running out of carts, but weren't prioritizing who got the next cart. It was just a free for all. Haven't played the course in 15 years and will never be back.
It needs some work
Played this morning. Tees off almost a half hour late due to late arrivers ahead of us. Tight windows for tee times and there was a lot of waiting between shots.
In terms of the playing experience, the course wasn’t in the best condition. Some of the tee boxes needed mowing. The greens has a lot of left ball marks and there were a lot of bumpy putts. The rough is a challenge, but I actually think this is intentional—you need to keep it on the fairway.
Lastly, I paid $69 including cart to play through GolfNow, but the actual course website says the greens fees would be $49 riding. At the $69 provide point, there is bette value.
On a positive note, it is a pretty course with an interesting layout. 16/17/18 are great closing holes. The staff member who helped me at the snack bar was a nice guy.
Not worth the money
Horrible tee boxes and greens. Carts were nothing but trouble the whole time. Way to expensive for how poor the course was. Many better options In the area for the same price or even cheaper.
