Sandwich Hollows Golf Club

I'm a weekend hacker and like to get out for a cheap round when I can. This place was in my wheelhouse. Not terribly expensive (I paid 22 for 9 holes walking) on a Monday afternoon. Course was well maintained and moderately challenging. Best part of all - they have a nice clubhouse with good food and friendly bar-keep.

Great price, for which you get to see a lot of golf on one course. Holes do not become repetitive, and the hills make for a challenge to any level of golfer. The everpresent wind adds a further layer to this dynamic experience.

Decent course not great. Tee times are to close together gets jammed up. 5hrs round

fairways in excellent shape,greens fast but a bit bumpy. staff friendly,but no food available in clubhouse, not happy with that!!

Went to Sanwich Hollows yesterday. I always love the course and the layout. The course is always in good shape but yesterday I arrived and wasn't told that on the course the greens had been airified probably with in the past day or 2 so the greens were very bumpy and sandy. I just wish I would have known ahead of time as I would have skipped it this time so that wasnt as fun as it could have been.

I like the beautiful course very much and I like the food here. I will recommend my friends playing here. But Mr. Counter Man sometimes is not friendly and I don't understand why he needs to tread people this way as we are their customs. The pace is so slow but no rangers checking on it. A few rounds only front 9 spent 3-3.5 hours.

Probably the best course I have ever played. The course is beautiful and very challenging. It was in perfect shape.

I BEEN PLAYING IN THIS COURSE FOR COUPLE OF YEARS NOW. IT HAS BEEN A GREAT EXPERIENCE ALWAYS. FRONT NINE HOLES AVERAGE CHALLENGE BACK NINE YOU WILL NEED A CART TO GO UP AND DOWN THE HILLS.

Course in good shape for this time of year, late aug.,early sept.

Arrived at course early and because of open time, we were able to get out on the course early. The staff was very accommodating. The greens were in very good condition. My husband and I played together. I'm a beginner and only played 9 holes. For me it was a long course, for my husband, he really enjoyed it.

Greens were terrible, slow bumpy and just horrible.have played here in the past four or five times and loved it, but after this past experience would not go back.

I paid for the special: 18 holes including cart for $29.95 via Golf Now. I wouldn't pay any more. The place looked very tired from the parking lot to the course. It was very quiet, but still played slow until the back nine then it was wide open. Greens were very slow and in some cases ragged. Design was ok and playable except the 18th hole where the idiot designer put a tree 30 yards in front of the green in the middle of the fairway.! A great tee shot gets punished by requiring you to go UNDER the tree to a tiny green. I made par anyway, but This cheap trick is simply laziness. DUMB

Nice layout, challenging greens. Would reccomend to anyone.

Booked a tee time for mid day on a muggy 90 degree Friday in August. After charging my credit card, the counter man informed us there weren't enough carts but that we would have one as soon as other players finished the 18th hole. So, no problem. One cart arrived and I exchanged pleasantries with the golfers who had finished their round and they handed me the key. Mr. counter man, who had been watching out the window, came running out of the pro shop and berated me in an aggressive tone for "jumping line" to "grab some other person's cart". He then informed me I'm actually seventh in line for a cart. That would have been useful to know before I paid. He also said that if we needed to warm up we could carry our clubs to the range across the road and down a steep hill a few hundred yards away and then back up the hill again when finished. That's a great idea on a hot day especially since my heart surgery at Mass General. It might also have been a little difficult for my 73 year old wife whose recovering from a broken neck after a fall. Anyway, two questions? 1) How well managed is a golf course which fails to have enough carts on a Friday afternoon in the middle of Summer? 2) How much does a golf course care about repeat business when it hires help who act obnoxiously toward their paying customers? As for me, I'll vote with my wallet. There are plenty of courses that know how to treat their customers with respect. I suggest the Sandwich Hollows management play a few rounds at PineHills or Red Tail to learn about customer relations and then have a training seminar with their staff.

Great course for a Sunday afternoon. It's nice to travel down to the Cape without traffic on Sundays and finish up after traffic has cleared. Going to be nice playing here many more Sundays!

Very nice course. Conditions were very good (greens a bit slow for me but in great shape). Stay on the fairway and you will have a great round. Pretty hilly-glad I rode. Overall, you will enjoy your round.

Great place to golf, but needed someone to go out and tell 2 guys to pick up their pace. 1st nine was horrendous waiting, waiting. Second 9, 3 people in front of us moved beyond the 2 male slackers, and then we asked to go before them and we moved on. Once we were away from these 2 guys, our pace was great.

This course was well-maintained and had a fun, yet challenging layout. Excellent value. Will definitely return next summer while on vacation!

The course was in immaculate shape. I really enjoyed the front 9 layout. Very aesthetically pleasing to the eye and a bit tricky. No need to hit a driver on most of the holes.

Also, when I originally looked up the course online, the pics on the internet are not from the course. There is NO WATER anywhere. So don't expect to play along the ocean or anything.

One complaint: as I'm putting for birdie on 16, grounds crew comes and starts watering the green that I'm putting on. Very upsetting that the guy didn't know the etiquette.

Overall, great course and would definitely play again.

I played the 6am tee time. Got paired up with people that slowed me down but that's ok. Do not try to walk this course. Greens are slow but in good shape. Later in the day, the place was packed so I imagine the pace slowed a lot. I paid 20 dollars and it was well worth it. Challenging because of undulation and tight holes.
