Great short course for kids
This is a great starter course for children to do a full sized 18 hole course. At only 5600 yards and a par 67, there are many par 3s and short par 4s. With the deal, it was worthwhile, however full price at $34 with cart for 18 may be a bit high.
Had wonderful time
I had a wonderful time playing this course.
Back nine was a little backup but okay and behind us people were impatience and I got almost hit by their ball without any warning otherwise, everything was good.
Good course
good conditions and great time. Totally recommend it
Family friendly course
I played Huron Hills for the first time and brought my 13 year old. We were both very impressed by the course and facilities. The course is just over 5,000 yards from the longest tees, but all 7 par 3 holes are relatively long (136 to 231 yards; with 5 holes over 169) so it makes for a nice mix and makes up for some of the short par 4 holes on the back 9 (4 par 4 holes between 239 and 276). Although, those short par 4's are a lot of fun because you have the opportunity to drive the green 4 times (plus the 231 par 3 number 4). The course is well maintained with lots of mature trees, undulating fairways, elevated tee boxes and the greens were in excellent shape. The staff was very friendly. The course is a great place to take a child who is learning the game. I belive this will become my go to course when I'm golfing with my son. Oh, and it was $12 per person with a cart through GolfNow.com (nice!).
Deceived
Checked in fine, got situated get on first tee box and then told I have to pay an $8.00 rider fee if my friend wants to just watch. I do not see a rider fee anywhere on there less than desirable website nor in their pro shop. This is nothing more than price gouging especially for a city course I pay taxes for. I have played here before multiple times and have never had to pay a rider fee.
The course itself is short, greens are quite slow and there is a hawk on the back 9 that literally attacked the group in front of me. Decent track if you're new to golf or want to get in a quick round. Not worth the price they charge with cart go elsewhere.
My home course growing up. Nostalgia on a classic!
This review isn't for one round but for a childhood growing up with this course near my house and the place I learned the game which since has become my livelihood. It's short and sweet, but there's really nothing quite like the back nine anywhere else I've played in the world. A great walk at just 5,000 yards with some good hills and tough shots to small greens. Why is Ann Arbor such a great city? An affordable, accessible and scenic course like Huron Hills.
Clean and green.
The course was clean and green grass. Well taken care of. The only thing is some of the holes with the hills and valleys are quite challenging.
great course !
This course is great for the higher handicap! Provides a challenge without discouraging play. Had a great time!
nice public course
This course is a staple of the ann arbor area. Friendly staff, good price, and not too hard but not too easy holes. Great course for everyone, whether you are a beginner or an expert. Twilight rates are the best in the county!
Great Course layout, not so great service
They added a third to our two some and made it awkward not even like they asked, they just said hey your with that guy. I liked the course though great variation between holes.
The course is better than last year however still needs some work.
The pace was very slow and we needed a ranger to encourage golfers to keep pace.
Poor condition
This course was in terrible condition. The fairway grass was too long and almost always left you with a shot hitting out of long grass despite you being in "the fairway". There was a "ranger" that was circling, but he was moreso looking for balls. He took at least two of our balls that went OB. When we drove up to where our balls were, he would drive away and our ball would be gone. No alcohol sold or allowed and no food in the club house besides chips.
Course has been better
This time the course looked pretty neglected. If you didn't stay on the fairway you either lost your ball or took 5 min to find it. The first cut was way too long, and in some places it was difficult to distinguish fairway from rough. I've played there many times and I have never seen it this poorly maintained so hopefully it was just a one-time thing. I was there a little over a month ago and it was fine.
Nice place for a round of golf.
Front nine wide open allowing you to get into the round without to much pressure. Some of the holes are shorter, but long par threes make up for it.Back nine awsome views, challenging, and fun.
not a bad short course
Course is pretty straightforward, very short back nine. Greens and bunkers in good shape. Carts are old and unreliable. All-in-all a good value when discounted.
Great deal downtown Ann Arbor
I've been buying the golfnow hot deal at Huron Hills all fall, rarely anyone else out there and we have been playing in 2-3 hours every time. Course is nothing special, lot of long par 3's make it more challenging than your normal municipal. Can't beat the location or the price.
Fun golf course to play.
For a municipal course it is well maintained. The first 7 holes are of a links style and then you start at number 8 which is the number 1 handicap. From that hole on you are faced with a slightly wooded setting with rolling hills and slopes to contend with. Fun course with challenges.
