The Links at Bowen Lake

Great course for the price. Challenging for all types of golfers. Good shots are rewarded, bad shots can still be recovered from. Only a few holes present issues off the tee for the average golfer. Greens are very receptive to iron shots, even in the midst of a drought. Bunkers could be raked on a more regular basis, but that's my only complaint. If you stay out of them, it's not an issue.

My wife said don’t be rude all right she finally got quiet. I have played this course now at least a half dozen times this year and I continue to get great deals on tee off and that is the primary reason when you can play a premium course like this and with the new owners time, and Tom is doing a fantastic job, and I have GPS on the carts, which actually did not shut off too bad when you got too close to stuff, you know what I mean. Played well on a Thursday, June 22 for only 18 bucks each. Good luck trying to beat my deals I find. Even for 40 bucks compared to Falls a Barber Creek Ave it’s an outstanding value because the conditions are great and you have much longer choices to choose from. It’s not just simply a driver wedge course. Anyway between Brookside and Phoen Lake will continue to come out here to play. It’s a good time. It’s a good course. It’s a great price.

Fairways are fast and firm for max roll out and the greens hold well struck shots. Great use of water management to the team!

So slow, no ranger, letting all twosomes out, took 2.5 to play 9 so we left. Disappointed because it seems like a decent spot but wont be back for afternoon golf thats forsure

Slow play is the most used excuse on any course. Why can't the course put a Marshall out and speed things along? We had 1 foursome, a threesome, a single player, Us, as a twosome and another 2 players behind us on a blind par 4. Nobody rang the old rusty bell so others could tee off. Nobody wanted to pair up. That's 12 people on one hole. Do you want to pay me to come Marshall the course? You can do better .

Disclaimer: I'm a golf lunatic and play everywhere I can. I save 5 stars for Kapalua Bay, Arcadia Bluffs etc. That being said, I drove to The Links at Bowen Lake, and I am stoked that I did! Great track! The grass is not the same quality, or nearly as plush, as the more exclusive courses I play. But you're comparing 300$ with 60. And The Links will blow your hair back at a rate you can afford. The layout is legit! Fun shots on every hole. I don't remember a hole or a shot that I thought was boring. The greens were fast and challenging. There was significant undulations but they run true. I had a blast and I will be back....frequently.

What could be better:

Range is irons only. A large net at the back of the range could solve that problem. Range lacks sufficient targets. (There are 3 total)

Range balls need replacing, almost all are scuffed a bunch. A few broken balls in the bucket too.

I could have caught it on a bad week, but I don’t think I’ve played greens this slow before.

Clubhouse doesn’t have a real pro shop, just a small area near the bar but it’s slim pickings for balls/gloves/merch, etc.

Lots and lots of dead straight holes.

10 and 11 are great golf holes and nice to have them back to back with the bending par 5 up the hill and then after a good drive, semi reachable as well. 11 gets tight and even a good drive could be in danger. Similar on some other holes too when fairways cut out like maybe 16 too?

I liked the difference in the holes where you didn't have to just bomb driver on every par 4 and par 5. If I play those holes again I'd be more strategic which is fun for repeat playability to play them differently.

Conditions were good, clubhouse looks like a fun place to hang post round, especially on the weekends.

Flowers looked awesome, especially liliy of the valley on 18 tee box, you can tell someone cares alot about those areas. I was surprised to see wood tee box signs w/ all the metal work in the clubhouse, roundabout and even the bathrooms.

1 rate all day is a bit of a bummer, paid the same to walk as to ride. I get it's my choice to walk but it does just put a weird taste in your mouth.

Course is in great shape.very friendly staff.always a pleasure to play here

With Bowen being on TeeOff now we have played here a half dozen times by mid May. New owners have course in great shape and is affordable for us retirees.

Wife now 60 and finally figured out green tees which is helping out tremendously. 4500 yards just too long for a senior gal. Ready to break 100 and getting closer to the lid man from the golds lol!

Used discount golf and couldn't believe deal on a great course. Long par 3s.
