Brookside Golf Course
About
Nestled in the gently rolling hills of Gowen, Brookside Golf Course has a tranquil, peaceful location that is ideal for a round of golf. The course opened in 1963 and has been locally owned and operated ever since. The golf course measures to a manageable 6,100 yards from the back tees, a seemingly short course by modern standards. Though it may not be what you're looking for if you want a truly formidable championship course but it provides a good and affordable round of practice. The front nine is slightly less demanding than the back. Overall Brookside Golf Course is gentle enough for beginners with a few strategically placed bunkers to make it challenging. There is also a meandering stream that wanders across a few of the holes.

Good local course
Having golfer brookside many times. The course was in good shape, both fairway and greens.
Good local course.
Worth it!
This golf course is amazing especially at such a low price. A fun and great time and friendly staff! As well as that they have a full bar and restaurant!
Will not be returning!
This is my first time leaving a review, and unfortunately it is because I want to warn others. This is the second time I have paid for 18 and left at the turn. For starters, we showed up early to hit the range, but was told we could get right on if we made our way to the first tee box. That was a complete lie, as there were two pairs, waiting to tee off in front of us. Even before the drastic wait began, while I was loading my bags to the cart, there was a fight breaking out right in front of the club house.
Between seeing people playing with their shirt off as if it were a nascar race, and taking 3 hours to complete 9 holes, there is no way I will be returning to this course!
Great layout!
First time at this course. Fun layout. A lot of character. Many holes where you can not see the green from the tee box. Tee boxes were worn down but to be expected at the end of the season. Great value. Looking forward to playing this one again.
Horrible pace
There was like 5 groups taking an hour on a hole. Not a bad course but I’d rather pay more money to not play 18 in 7 hours.
Course needs work
Pretty standard layout, some challenges, some easy holes. Course needs maintenance, traps haven't been raked or sand added, weeds growing in them. Pace of play was super slow, we teed off 45 min past our time as we had 3 groups at box waiting . Staff was friendly, but they appeared short on staff.
A bit of a long drive to the course but it was in fairly good condition and friendly staff! Short holes and fairly easy for an average golfer
18 on a hot day
We enjoy playing Brookside. We knew when we booked our round that it was a hot weather day. There was NO water in either of the course coolers. The course is in decent shape considering the recent hot weather. Some of the tee boxes are pretty rough.
Brookside Beauty
We always enjoy playing Brookside. This year, they've switched the nines making it even more enjoyable for golfers only playing nine holes. We love the layout, the wide variety of challenges and the natural setting. Thanks Brookside for a great golf experience!
HELP!!!
I used to live in the area and played this course frequently. It used to be a nice course.. My wife and I played yesterday and the course was in horrible shape. Fairways were brown and the greens were even worse. Keep in mind that we have had a lot of rain lately which would lead me to believe the course would be in decent shape. The sand traps were hard, nobody rakes the traps. In fact I did not even see a rake on the course. The sand is hard and not playable. Oh, nobody replaces ball marks on the greens either. This course needs help.
scenic
a very scenic place, many of the fairways separate from each other. sevaral challenging holes and greens in great condition. nice getaway.
