Gold/Red at Bello Woods Golf Course

Was very wet when i golfed it, but the tee boxes and greens were beautiful! If you’re not hitting the fairway, can be a tough course for some.

Overall, I enjoy Bello Woods for the price. But the course does not drain well, leaving poor fairways and inconsistent greens after rain. On the red and white courses, tees and greens are extremely close, so it seems there is always someone next to you while teeing off of on a green. Pace of play is not controlled well. We did not see the ranger once during our round today, and we’re waiting on almost every hole. Staff is friendly and beers are priced well. Cart paths need some TLC and new pavement. For the price, it’s an okay course, but if I have another choice for the days round, it wouldn’t be Bello Woods most of the time.

This use to be our Favorite Course because the pace was Good. The last 2 rounds were a NIGHTMARE. They have kids leagues balls flying in every direction people crisscrossing fairways total chaos. Unfortunately for us we have to find a new favorite place. They need to have a starter so when people make the turn it’s open and not multiple groups waiting to tee off. UNORGANIZED

The only saving grace is that we got paired with another awesome couple! The course was oversold, it took us over 2.5 hours to golf 9 holes. There was a backup at every tee box. The par 3 was ridiculous, there were 6 carts ahead of us, plus our 4-some they put together. We didn't even finish the round. I'm more than patient but when you have guys hitting up on you from behind, with literally a parking lot full of carts to tee-off, it does not make for a very fun day. The last few times we have golfed here it has been like this, the attendants are crabby, the carts are dirty and there is never a beer cart girl on the course. My suggestion, if you are not a golf newbie, stay away, far far away!

To a certain point I get the 'you get what you pay for" and I'm usually okay with that. And I usually won't criticize a cheaper course in the area because I know how certain courses are. But when there really is no set fairway, there is no enforcement of any sort of pace of play and its just the wild west out on the course I kind of have a problem with that.

In the clubhouse I was told that since I am playing 18 that I am going from their white course to gold course. Only to see them send multiple foursomes on the gold course for 9 house as I am making the turn. Have your 18 hole groups play the same courses and send all the 9 hole groups out on your third 9-hole course.

The "fairways" seemed like they weren't cut in a couple of weeks. I couldn't tell the difference between hitting in the rough and hitting off the grass dead center in the middle of the hole where the fairway should be.

I have never played a course where you had to be aware every single shot of getting hit. The tee boxes are way too close to the greens. They fit in 27 holes where there should only be 18. Also because of the price the quality of golfer is poor making it that much more dangerous. It was a 6 hour round of golf. 15 minutes of waiting in between every shot. It is so short i could only hit driver on 2 holes. They also put most of the hole locations unnecessarily close to edge of the green. Every single hole was 5 ft or less. On a few holes sure. However it was made way too difficult a course for what it actually is. For as disappointing as the layout and danger level was, it was well taken care of. Overall just a terrible experience. Wont ever go back.

The ruff was US Open quality and the greens were fadt

Too crowded, skipped holes due to slow players & an inexperienced 5-some. White 9 boring, every hole the same. Gold 9 better, more variety & challenging. Bar/food very good & reasonably priced. Pleasant staff.

The pace of play was so bad we left on the 16th hole

The course was in good shape but a little wet cause of the 5 inches of rain that has come down the last few days. Pace of play was great 3 hours for 18 holes. Staff is very friendly
