Absolutely No Course Management
We got to the second tee and had 2 other Firestone’s waiting to tee off. Called the ranger who came over and said it opened up after the next hole. We ended up waiting with another group on every single hole all 18, and the group in front of us quit after 13 holes. Playing a 5 hour round is awful. The same ranger who said on hole 2 we would be fine also served us our hotdogs at the turn, while 4 staff sat in the pro shop doing nothing. We drive an hour to play this course and I wouldn’t play it again if it was free.
Paceof play was horrible..........5 1/2 hours. No rangers on the course to monitor
Hi, we appreciate the review. You rated us 3-stars which means there is room to improve on your recent experience at The Medalist Golf Club. Let us know, in the comments, how and where you would like to see changes from the course. Thanks for the feedback!
Absolutely the best
This course is absolutely the best. Very challenging, excellent condition, excellent service and staff. Wonderful patio and restaurant with more than adequate menu and fabulous quality of food and beverages.
Thank you for rating our facility and it makes us very happy that you enjoyed your visit.
Beautiful Course must play
This is a great design by Bill Newcomb. He also designed Thornapple Pointe in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area as well, another must play and amazing course. Greens putt true, plush fairways, overall great design and conditions. Hole 7 and 17 are very challenging and scenic par 3s. Love hole 4 and 13 par 5s. Very fun and challenging course.
Thank you for taking the time to review our facility and we are glad you enjoyed the course.
Rick Plangger
Played with my wife and son, we loved it, beautiful course with nice conditions, my son is a very good golfer and it was very challenging for him, price was good and pace of play for a Saturday at 11:03 was four hours. If I didn't like to play a variety of courses , would play it all the time
We are glad you enjoyed The Medalist and we are proud that players of any level can play our facility as long as they play the correct set of tees. We understand your views of playing multiple courses but we hope you come back and see us again soon.
Gold Medalist
Have gotten to play the course many times this season given the 2020 circumstances. 17 handicap and some days I can get this layout and other times I can make it real hard. Hole #4 is one of the best holes you'll play anywhere. We have a love/hate relationship. Greens are always true and fast and the staff is friendly and quick. Really enjoy the experience and recommend it to my group of friends everytime.
We are glad you have enjoyed our facility this year and many golfers have a love hate relationship with #4. It's a true test. We hope to see you again soon.
Great course, great value after 3:00 pm Sunday.
The greens are fast but putt very true. Have always liked this course and find times to play for value.
They’ve thought of everything.
This is a well ran well maintained facility. The course is in great shape! Not a single hump in any tee box and they have plenty of tee positions for all ranges of handicaps. Practice facilities are great for warming up prior to a round. No need to stop at the turn, you can order F&B right to your cart anywhere on the course. Get out here and play!
Thank you for your kind comments. We are very proud of our staff and the work they do. We hope to see you again soon.
Hello and thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. With an uncharacteristically full day, we work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and allow our guest the chance to complete their rounds. With that in mind, we are working to best control pace and allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve. Thank you for playing The Medalist Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.
