Lake Doster Golf Club in Plainwell is ranked as one of the top 25 golf courses in Michigan. The layout has undulating greens and watered fairways that will test even the most experienced golfers. The course is home to the affectionately nicknamed "Little Monster," its third hole, which boasts a reputation as the toughest par 3 in the state. This infamous hole features a tee that sits high above a treacherous green that is surrounded on three sides by water and even further protected with three sand traps. The hole is also completely isolated thanks to the surrounding mature trees. There is another par 3 on the golf course that is almost as equally tough, the 15th. There is a pond to the right that is seemingly out of play but it's still intimidating enough to push you too far left, risking a landing in the sand trap.

Nice out in the country golf course.
This course is an old school layout. Plenty of hills, doglegs and blind tee shots to challenge both the experienced and novice golfer.
The staff couldn't have been friendlier.
A great value for $28 on hot now deal ( we got an additional 25% off) due to special promotion.
Best Value in West Michigan
Even without finding a Hot Deal from GolfNow, you can't go wrong with Lake Doster's daily rates. The course condition and difficulty level make it my go-to course for all occasions. Keep up the great work
tee time problem
Called and got the FIRST tee time in the morning so we could get off and around as we have had problems with pace of play before. Showed up at 8am as we were told that was when the course opened .Nobody there. While unloading our clubs some people went by heading for the first tee. Finally when the guy showed up I asked about the people on the tee ahead of us and he said they always play first thing every week. Had to wait . Not good.
Great course
Hole placement was challenging which it should be for a good course. Can’t wait to play it again!

Great Experience
Beautiful course. Just one golfer playing. A very slow 3-some would not let me through. I will try to be nice about their golf etiquette. Staff was great, tee boxes in great shape, fairways were great and greens in great shape. Would love to play it again!
green bigger than most courses
started playing on the back when we made the turn a league play was going off. Front desk said to get in front of the league that tere was no one in front of them.But there was to groups in front of them. But we were a able to play in between.
Great challenging holes!
Greens and fairways pretty good for the most part. A few bunkers not in best condition and have more stones than expected. The rough is very 'unforgiving' which is great, unfortunately for me. Many tough placed holes make you think about your shots - play smart.

I enjoy this course enoughI would recommend it to everyone. I wish my league was here dio I could play here more
Taken well care of with lots of scenic beauty wish hot deal times on weekend earlier
I like playing Doster early in the am last 2 Sundays I saw deer on the fairway During the first two holes. Usually the staff in the clubhouse are friendly and courteous even though they were busy at 8 am they let me shoot off the back as I was by myself. Even though I put my first two tee shots in the woods as ground crews were itching to get to the back nine greens and traps and kindly stopped their machines as I teed off--I was courteously informed by the club house staff when I checked in they'd be there when I asked to play the back first. I think the course is very nicely cared for, challenging in spots with its bit slope indexes in spots traps well groomed scenic woods abound most holes pretty private from each other. I know singles are tough to get off during prime season on the weekends but they are super freiendly if I book early to avoid crowds if you could put hot deal times earlier in the am during weekends--7 or 730 or even earlier I'd be there every weekend--because of crowds and not getting earlier hot deal times on weekends I only was able to play 9 of the 18 I paid for.
