Lake Doster Golf Club

Used Golf Now and received an excellent rate for golf and cart for 18 holes. Paid online when the reservation was made.
Arrived at the golf course, (Lake Doster, Kalamazoo, mi.) and informed them that we had paid online via Golf Now.com.. They seemed like they could care less, put us off on the back nine, they had an outing on the front. We completed our front nine only to see two foursomes of ladies and a 2 some some outing on the front nine.
They could care less, no "sorry", no nothing.
Nice place...sic.
Course isn't that bad, other players where very friendly. Just expect to be dissed if they know you saved money via Golf Now.

I have played this course on and off since the early 1980's. Quality dropped a few years ago, but the course has really improved the last couple of year and is in tip top shape again. The greens have always been the highlight. They are large, ungulating and very true.
The last four holes make for a very tough finish. Glad to see the course back to original form.

I've played this course off and on for the last 15 years. The course is never in perfectly manicured condition, however the price is always right. The layout is interesting having the feel of an "up North" course . There are elevation changes, woods, wetlands and water hazards.. Over the years the trees have begun to overgrow some of the fairways and make a couple of the holes sort of unfair. The greens have a lot of pitch to them and make putting quite a challenge. The only saving grace is that they are not particularly fast. I always enjoy playing Lake Doster. But just not too often.

Played on my way to staying at the Yarrow Golf Resort. Weather was difficult with wind and some rain but the course was in good shape and we breezed through the round in about three hours and 15 minutes. I played it once before which helped. I recommend the course.

The layout of the coarse is nice and somewhat challenging but the condition is pretty chopped up! The tee boxes were hard as a brick yet the greens were soaking wet? A lot of in-coarse OB and hazard areas.

Great course!! Beautiful greens and Awesome views!! Bring extra balls because the views are very deceiving, par 3's are insane! Par 5's looks like miles but your able to get there in 2.... Staff was friendly bought several items from the pro shop, bought some stylish Puma Socks that were very comfortable and bought a Cleveland Hat that wasn't anywhere near what I thought I'd have to pay at a Pro Shop vs Dicks or Dunham's or online. They have a pretty good selection of items. Had fun! Bring some extra Sleeves, your balls magically disappear here!

Course was average condition, but compared to other courses we played recently in southern Michigan it was lower quality. Greens were grainy - not sure what kind of grass.
Great value for price we paid and the pro shop staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

had a beautiful morning greens n fairways in excellent condition slope on greens along with thier speed will make you pay attention to where you want to land your approach shot (thats a good thing) played 18 in 4 hrs

Good fairways, really good greens, fast and true, good course to play from the tips. Know your club distances stay in the fairways. Don't let the little par 3 get in your head or you will end up in the water. Good course will play again

The only down sides. They let people off the back just before we made the turn. So we ended up waiting more on the back. Also not many of the ball washers had water in them. The course is a very nice spread out course.

Had a great day for golf, the pace was a little slow but acceptable - still a better place than on a lawnmower working in the yard:-). No one likes a challenge more than I but 16 of the pins were 5' from the edge of the green and tucked making access nearly impossible. It was ridiculous actually which I am sure made the pace of play tedious. I have played here a bunch and have never seen such foolishness before...note to course manager: if you want the pace to be more reasonable on weekends provide input to the person setting the pins and tees - there are plenty of days in the week when course traffic is light to get silly with pin placement and give greens a chance to heal in the well traveled areas.

Course is in great shape. Too bad my game wasn't. Enjoyed the day with my family.

The course played well, and was in good shape. I enjoyed it and will return. Can't complain with $15 golf.

My wife and I had to meet some friends for dinner in the area and Lake Doster was on the way. We have played this course in the past. Good Challenge, great hole variety and a great value.

The ~30min drive from Kalamazoo was worth it to play this course which has plenty of great deals available on golfnow. Pro shop attendant was nice enough to provide a complimentary course guide. Bonus! Will return, especially for scenery in late summer/fall months.

This course is one of the finest I have played, and my wife and I have played in 31 states so far. The course is challenging, while being fair and the scenery is to die for. The staff made us feel welcome, but the truly special part was the way the local members treated us. We left this course feeling that our next trip will be back to this hidden gem. The signature hole is a simple little 88 yard par 3 with water on three sides and three sand traps added for good measure. You will love it.

It was a very nice course it was well maintained and in great sharp for the time of year. Lots of beautiful holes. The par 3 they call the monster was a fun hole. Water in the front and water in the back with about a 80 foot drop. I know it's fall but you couldn't get anything hot to eat at the turn.

This course has some unique holes! Don't leave home without your laser range finder.

Great course. Don't expect a lot with food and beverage. Had a coupon that included hot dog and chips - it was not honored. Staff said they're not cooking today, you'll be lucky if they do. It was Sunday at noon. Similar occurrence on a different day also. Overall, Great course, but don't expect much in terms of food.
