Waited 1 hour after our tee time no carts to play. but saw two groups of six playing. The guy in the shop was talking to them so he knew.

Greens were horrible , played there before , not normal.

I've played Doster years ago and remembered it as a nice layout with a good clubhouse feel, friendly and helpful to non-members. Those two things are still true.

Unfortunately, we had trouble with member players showing up as singles or doubles behind our foursome, including immediately after we teed off at our appointed time, and then acting impatient as our foursome played at a 4-hour pace. NOT COOL. Eventually, they would give up and drive around, but it was not a good look or feel. I was entertaining guests, so I felt particularly responsible to provide my fellow golfers w a good experience.

The other local guy golfing with us said he had the exact same experience the two prior times he played Doster this season. Management needs to educate its members and/or have a starter and ranger on the course to control its rude members.

This place was in terrible condition, now I know why they only charged $22 for 9 holes. Never play this place on the weekends, they just put as many golfers on the course as they can. VERY slow play...

Greens are in very bad shape. Tee boxes are not much better. Rough was fine, and we played clean and place from the fairways.

Overall solid course. Tee boxes were a bit firm and had some divots/dirt patches but could play around. Great round for the price.

Their signature hole the par 3 3rd hole was a total mess. The blue tee had a mat to tee off from. The other tee boxes on this hole were mostly dirt. The cart path to the hole was under construction and being downhill was difficult to manage. Many of the tee boxes were beat up and so hard it was difficult to put in a tee. Several of the women’s were all dirt. The fairways were ok and the greens fast but on many of the greens the old holes were noticeably visible with gaps around the plug. Many seemed badly in need of water. The only things positive were the pace of play and the price.

Cart paths desperately need replacement as they were very very rough. That is probably carts are governed to a slow speed.

Tee boxes were mostly hard packed dirt.

Fairways were pretty good but quite hard.

Greens were the best part of the course, fast and challenging but rolled true.

Players should repair their ball marks.

Had fun playing golf with family.

Tee boxes were in very poor condition, mostly hard packed dirt that Meade it difficult to stick a tee in the dirt.

Carts were very slow, probably governed because cart paths were very rough.

Fairways were in pretty good shape but were quite hard.

Not likely to return this season.

I enjoy playing here because of the long holes, good elevation changes, fast greens. The cart paths could be much better, but the actual playing surface was good. A few rough spots but it has been a rough summer of hot dry spells.

Good choices from multiple tees.

Challenging layout that rewards shots that stay in fairway.

Tee boxes were in fair condition, greens were in great shape.

Cart paths are quite poor and should be replaced.

All in all it was an enjoyable round.

One of West Mi Best courses to play. Greens were excellent. Friendly staff, .PGA SUPER SENIORS USE TO PLAY HERE WHEN THEY PLAYED IN GRAND RAPIDS. COME OUT AND ENJOY.

Booked 4:00 tee time. Made the turn as they were letting leagues off both sides they were already clogged up to 16. Didnt appreciate no heads up as I checked in

Great place greens in excellent shape tough but fair. Would absolutely play there again

This is a tough review because this used to be one of my favorite places to play. I first booked my tee time on golfnow only to show up and find out that golfnows price doesn’t include a cart (even though it says cart included) so they basically cancelled my golfnow tee time after I paid the $9 fee. They then charge me $72.00 after I booked a $42.00 tee time for 2 golfers with a cart. I drove over an hour to get to the course and wasn’t going to leave without golfing so I paid it. Word of advice if you decided to play this course do not use golfnow. The course over the years had also been let go. Greens are in good condition but tee boxes are a wreck and the little monster par 3 is a mess. Currently having you hit off turf. Overall pretty disappointed after being a regular at this course for many years.

The course has difficult elevation changes, well-places bunkers and trees, and the greens are challenging to play. The staff has always been very friendly, and the course is well-kept.

course is layed out well with some trouble to be found playing it the first time. Managing the course for the traps, water, and woods you can get on the greens. But the greens are tricky with the breaks that are hard to visualize however the greens rolled nicely and speed was consistent.
