Willow Wood Golf Club

About
Located just three miles south of downtown Portland, Willow Wood Golf Club sprawls across acres of rolling countryside laced with meandering creeks and ribbons of mature woodlands. The naturally hilly terrain lent itself perfectly to a challenging championship course. Golfers will encounter a range of ups and downs but the golf course is a manageable 6,200 yards from the back tees. It's a layout that will keep you on your toes but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper. The course will test your skills, requiring creative shot making throughout. Each hole requires a different strategy and presents risk-reward opportunities, you're guaranteed to use every club in your bag. One of Willow Wood Golf Club's most memorable holes is the par-3 eighth. It has a sloped green with bunkers on the left, but a birdie might be a possibility if the wind is on your side.

Michigan's #2 Course on a dirt road
Willow Wood is a secluded 18 hole golf course, with No Homes, just south of Portland Michigan. The Greens are some of the best in Michigan, Fairways nice and lush green, Bunkers have been upgraded. 2nd cut ruff is manageable, finding your ball not a difficult task..
Nice track
Great shape and challenging for 5700 from the white tees
Keeps getting better!
I found this course 20 years ago when it had a trailer for the clubhouse. I thought I had made a huge mistake....I was wrong, and 20 years later we're still playing at WW! I forget his name, but the gentleman who runs it now is such a cool guy too. He treats people with respect, and it's obvious to me, he absolutely LOVES his course! He speaks about it with passion and that same love for the course can be seen in the upkeep of it. WW isn't long in relative terms, but the layout itself will keep even the good players intrigued. Greens roll true, fairways are perfectly mown, and scores can be had if you're on your game. Big numbers will pop up if not. Lol. I love WW and only wish I lived closer. Keep up the good work peeps!
Great little gem
Beautiful course. Well maintained. Not so difficult that you feel defeated but challenging enough to make you feel good about hitting good shots. Wish it was 15 minutes closer so I could go every weekend

Call course directly. Yes GN is convenient but you do NOT get the best price, especially the Senior Rate which will save $5. The course will not refund the extra $5 GN charges over the senior rate at the course. This was a rip-off. Fair warning.
Diamond in the rough
Best bang for your buck. Green are alway in great shape! Would recommend to anyone
Great forgiving course
This course was challenging and forgiving. Give you the opportunity to be aggressive with your shots and I did not penalize you in most holes if you had a bad shot.
Super Windy
Great little course I had a lot of fun, it's still early for Michigan golf. That being said the greens were good and the ball ran true. Super friendly staff, I will definitely go back later. Great day despite the wind.
