WestWynd Golf Course
About
Westwynd Golf Course in Rochester Hills is part of the Wyndgate Country Club, which is one of the most upscale private clubs in southeastern Michigan. The course itself is semi-private, it is open for public play. The championship course lives up to its reputation, boasting country club conditions and a beautifully maintained landscape. The layout features generous rolling fairways and undulating greens flanked with massive bunkers. The elevation changes throughout the golf course are subtle but tricky, making the putting surfaces one of the most challenging elements of the round. The contours and slopes allow for devious pin placements, which is especially true on the par 3s. Hitting the right portion of the green is essential to scoring well, as is managing the difficult and lengthy par 5s. The golf course is made even more challenging with mature trees and water hazards coming into play often.

Great course, very challenging
Well worth playing. Course in good condition offering a variety of holes.
Really like the course
Nice course, well maintained with some challenging holes. Need to play this course at least once.
Well maintained, fun holes
Don't need driver a lot here. Plenty of winding fairways where a long iron will put you in prime position for your second shot. Elevation changes also add a challenge to many holes. Got a great deal and would play again.
More of a series of photo ops than a golf course. Very pretty but too many blind shots, trick shots. Luck is a huge factor
Price is very good.
Start with the yardage; 6,300 from the whites is too much for me, 4,900 from reds is too little. Most whites on good courses are in high 5,000s.
Visually stunning on many holes, but trouble isn't visible on many drives and second/third shots. Over-designed. Nothing is simple, straight-forward difficult; always some little weird thing to detract from the fun. I'm a 14, found it harder to play than Kiawah Ocean or Spyglass.
Open course with many sand traps and hazards, not a course for high handicappers.
Well maintained and with excellent course layout. The course is located at the north end of Rochester Hills off Adams, very easy to get to.
good fun course
Course is challenging but fair. Most of the holes are well designed and have a good variety. Tough from the back 2 tee boxes. Fun to play - definitely worth playing again. Good spring rates as well.
Great course for the value, lengthy and tough.
Long course, tough to score well on. Rumor that they're getting new carts next week. Very nice for the value.
This course is a great value
This course is extremely demanding....there are no "easy" holes, yet it is totally fair. It can be quite penal due to "Oakmont" like fairway traps and wetland areas in front of the greens. It has only one "bad" hole, #15.......a par four that requires two midirons unless you can drive it 295+ across the hazard. The greens are multi level and challenging too and roll fairly true. The green quality could be better. I always look forward to playing it...because I like a course that challenges me on every shot.
very difficult
good course for high score if you're not a consistent shooter
comfortable
Being very early in the year the course was in good shape except the bunkers, will go back again, hopefully the bunkers will be playable then.. Colonel
Beginning of the golf season and the course was already very nice to golf.
Such a nice course to play, I can't wait to golf there again.
no maintained
only 3 played even paid 4.
played only 7 holes due to weather snowing.
No rain-check.
Challenging, nice layout
Great course.... Lots of elevation changes (choose your club wisely) good pace of play.... Beautiful Clubhouse and amenities.
Fantastic layout. Bunkers very unique in this area.
We played this course late fall of 2012. Can't wait to get on this course again. We highly recommend a very unique, pristine course.
overall course was good but had many problems with the carts and could not finish round, also wasnt offered any type of compensation
overall course was good but had many problems with the carts and could not finish round, also wasnt offered any type of compensation for not being able to complete our round
A wasted day
We played on a Sunday in November. The course was loaded. Greens were horrible but not as bad as the pace of play. Tee markers were missing. It's not ladies friendly since there is only one restroom near 15's green and before the 16th tee.
Our day was very windy and we had some rust from a three week layoff. Quit after 4.5 hours and 16 holes.
Very challenging
The course is anything but flat. Even when you're on your game, it is extremely challenging. You will you use every club in your bag, and you definitely need to think out your strategy on every hole. If you get through all 18 without a double bogie or worse on your card, then you've done very well!
Beautiful challenging course
This course is beautiful, (even in November) and it is pretty challenging also. There are a lot of big sand traps scattered throughout the course and you might be in a bunch of them. We played for $25.00 which was good for this course. It is quite a bit more in the summer. It has big rolling greens & hilly fairways. It is worth playing if you get the price you want. Make sure you take your sand wedge! :)
Very well maintained course!
You will want to play this course........exceptional manicuring on fairways and greens..........look for a GN hot deal, as we did, to get the best value, otherwise its a little pricey, but worth the money, if you are not on a limited budget! I would put WW in the top 10-15 in the metro area!
Excellent for the price
This course has all the elements that make it above average. Nice conditioning, good greens, short and long pars. One of the best public courses in the area.
