Not a flat lie
That part's of the fun though. A lot of shots that are up hill which is different from many courses. The greens were in great shape.
Fun course, Very forgiving off the tee. Front 9 and back 9 play differently though.
I liked the course. Lots of elevation changes. Would be a workout to walk this course. Par 3’s all have elevated tees to medium sized greens protected by bunkers. I like this type of par 3 layout. Not too much water or wetlands to deal without here. Lots of room off the tees except for one or two holes. Front 9 greens are fairly flat and predictable but the back 9 greens have considerable slopes and undulations. If your in the wrong part of the green on the back it will cost you strokes.
Nice Northern Retreat!!
Great course to escape the “home-lined” typical courses of the suburbs. A real breath of fresh air. Friendly staff and a challenge for shot making accuracy due to the guardian trees that line the course. Worth the drive a few times each year to enjoy the natural beauty of a classic golf course design. Enjoy!
Great place to play
Pace of play was great. Ranger was very helpful. Lots of fun
Playable and fun
Normally we get out as a twosome but was told a single was joining us, no problem had a great time. Some of the greens were in less than desirable conditions and a mower had a hydraulic blowout on the approach on a hole the course was in very good condition overall.
Good course to play
Very nice course. Good speed of play after joint the two in front of us. Not that good of cart girls.
Nice Layout, mediocre conditioning
Played on a Sunday in absolutely perfect weather. Play was slow, about normal for a Sunday morning tee time. The round took about 4:40 to complete. The layout is fun due to the hilliness of the course. Fairways and tees were scruffy, and the greens by far the slowest I've played all year, albeit they rolled true. Cart girls came be frequently. Staff was friendly and efficient. Food at the turn was yummy and quick. Overall, this course is worth a visit each season if you like variety..
Outstanding Value
Have really enjoyed playing this course the last several years. We have had work related golf outings with very positive feedback from the participants.

One of my favorite courses in the Detroit area. The elevation changes make each round different and keeps play challenging. Would recommend anyone play it at least once. Well worth the green fee.

HIDDEN GEM!!!
I was looking for a place I could get out to play with pops and came across Heather Hills on Golfnow. I got say I was skeptical on the entrance road, looks like your about to play a goat track. That was the last negative I had about the course. Beautiful views, great mix of par 3’s and and some cool hole shapes. No bunkers but it would be a $60 if it had bunkering on it and would play way tougher. WILL BE BACK in the fall for what will inevitably be the only round I enjoy more than the round I played today. WISH THIS COURSE WAS CLOSER!!!!
