Olde Mill Golf Course
About
Olde Mill Golf Club in Schoolcraft opened in 1958. The traditional layout is the perfect example of classic Midwestern golf. The layout winds along Flowerfield Creek, which comes into play throughout. The front nine has six water holes and there are two more on the back, but water isn't the only challenge you'll run into. The challenging golf course can feel much longer than the 6,180-yard length that's listed on the scorecard. The front nine is more open, but also subject to the wind, and the back nine gets much tighter with most of the holes framed by dense woodlands. There are numerous sand traps strategically placed throughout. In addition to the golf course, Olde Mill also has a driving range and practice green available that are great for warming up.

I would go again
Tee boxes were in horrible condition had to tee it up outside the box markers, broken tees everywhere! Standing water on the greens! I say the back was in much better condition than the front but both were beat.
Much Improved!
Since the newer stewardship, a vast better experience. Friendly staff, good carts and plenty of libations. Course is in noticeably better shape than last year, but it's a long road to greatness for a municipal course. Greens were inconsistent and the firmness helps the shorter hitters get some extra distance. The true ask is to help those tee boxes. They are torn up, but with the traffic through there, it's not surprising. Great work in the right direction!
Not bad, not great
Course recently underwent an ownership change and the new owners have been working on fixing up the place. It’s getting there. Conditions are much better than a couple years ago. However, the fairways are still in somewhat rough condition and you need a hammer to get your tee into the ground on the tee boxes. Greens are in pretty good shape, though they are incredibly slow due to how long they are cut.
Overall, this is still a fine course for the price and it is slowly improving. Wouldn’t take a client or someone you’re trying impress here but it’s good for a casual round with friends
Too packed
Showed up to play as a single - big mistake. I have done this before, but you have to time it right. This course had a membership deal for $149. They get every type of golfer. This is not to say that is bad, as all people deserve to enjoy golf. I ended up not even playing. There were two groups on the tee, and two groups on the hole. One group was a foursome that had four teenagers, two girls just learning how to play. All power to them, but if you want a tolerable round of golf, this is not the place..
bunkers and greens
the bunkers had no sand in them, only dirt with small rocks. There was no soft base, so when you hit the dirt, the club would bounce into the ball, so you either hit in back into the lip and it stayed in the bunker, or you hit the ball with no dirt, and usually hit it over the green. Many of the greens either had depressions or humps where the pin holes had been moved, but the old holes had not been properly tamped down, or filled in to be level with the playing surface.
Wow
This is the worst place I have ever played not mowed greens r very bad water everywhere on course and paid 44 to play about 20 to much
Slow golf
Paid for 18 but only played 9. Usually pace is good, but not today. Basically slow golfers looking for errant shots. The leaves don't help, but putting it in the fairway does.
Headed the right direction.
Course has really turned around in the last 4 to 5 years. Greens are much improved AND sand traps actually have sand in them. Kudos to the new management and owners.
Late Fall Golf
Fast paced round of golf. Average course, though price was right.
Fall golf
Not a bad round of golf. Weather was in the low 60's. Pace of play was awful on the front due to a 4 some of guys who watch too much golf on TV. Not very good golfers, too many practice swings and real deliberate on the greens. The 4 some that will ruin golf was playing. The back was much better with regards to pace as we played through at the turn. Course condition has improved over the year.
