Good bang for the buck
Great course for $35. I would imagine a late round would play slow as this is a good course for beginners.
Pleasantly Suprised
This was my first time playing the course, I took my brother and a buddy out for their birthdays. I booked it for $20 a piece on a hot deal. I really had no idea what to expect and for that price I wasn't expecting a great course. I thought that the green and tee boxes were well maintained and was happy with the conditions of the fairways. The greens are pretty fast and roll true, which is one of the best qualities of Hudson Mills. A few of the fairways on the back 9 looked like they needed a trim but other than that, I was impressed with the grooming of the course. The course is a little short and has a decent amount of wooded areas and tall grass. Each of us lost a few balls due to some tight areas. Overall, I enjoyed playing this course and for a price like that I definitely will play there again!
Unbelievable prices for such a nice golf course
This was the first time I played at Dexter Hudson Mills Metropark Golf Course. Staff was extremely friendly and nice, and the food/pro shop prices were outstanding as well. I played 18 holes with my brother at 8:30 AM for $10 each (HotDeal). The course was beautiful, moderately challenging, and I will definitely be back.
Greens
Greens were great, putted very true with good speed. Played in afternoon so greens had some
growth. I suspect early in the day were very fast.
sunday golf with the wife
Love the coarse great shape a little wet this time if year. Lets you use all your clubs and its not to hard for my wife so she had fun.
Nice Sunday Stroll
Grounds crew could get on the tee boxes and greens. Greens were pretty slow and tee boxes were shaggy. Trees, but wide fairways. Lots of wildlife. * lesser quality than Kensington, but not as much noise.
OK course.......don't expect too much
Very much what you envision a municipal park course to be. I have been impressed with the condition and layout of some of the other park run courses I have played ( Springfield Oaks, Indian Springs, even Glen Oaks) but this course left me unimpressed. Fairly open, not a ton of interesting golf holes. Back nines tee boxes and fairways were in need of mowing. Rough was fairly burnt up and sparse. The greens were in good shape and rolled true. About what you pay for, no hidden gem here............an OK course.
This course has some tricky greens but not long
The course is not long, but the greens have subtle breaks and can be quick.
Great value course
The course was in great condition and the pin placement was very challenging but worth it!
Fun Course
Good fun little course in Dexter. Played 18 here last Sunday, walked the front nine, rode the back. The front nine is the easier of the two, the holes are shortish and pretty straight. The back there are some dog leg holes but nothing too difficult. The holes are a bit longer though, number 16 being probably one of the toughest. Overall an enjoyable metro park course that I would recommend and play again.
Great tough course!
When checking in at Hudson Mills, I was a little turned off by the friendliness, or lack there of, from the gentleman working the clubhouse desk. However, once I got on the course, I was nothing but satsfied with everything but my score. Challenging large greens and perfectly manicured fairways and greens.
Great Greens
Beautiful course with large lush and well maintained greens.
older municipal course, smaller greens, wide open, yet plenty of trouble
I enjoy these metroparks courses. They are generally well groomed, a good length to play, and the pace of play is good.
Sadly not impressed
The roughs were uncut and uneven the fairways were not cut to what you'd expect. i will say we played after it had rained for several days. but overall very dissappointed
Straightforward course for the average golfer.
At 6600+ yards, a decent day's golf. Mostly straight fairways with a few doglegs here and there; some tighter, some not so tight.
Not many hazards, though the bunkers are strategically placed to make you think and the creeks that wander through the course can catch you napping. Generous-sized greens. Well-maintained.
All in all, a comfortable course for a double-bogie golfer like me while still offering a challenge to my single-bogie partner.
Great Value
Great value for the course. In better shape than similarly priced courses in the area.
