Timber Trace Golf Club
About
Timber Trace Golf Club sprawls across the rolling countryside that surrounds Lake Wallaby in lower Michigan. The location seems rather remote, giving the course an isolated feel, but the round is well worth the trip. The layout is routed through tall pines and the fairways effortlessly flow across the gently rolling hills. The wooded terrain is one of the course's major draws. Golfers from as far as the metro Detroit area come to enjoy this scenic round. The layout has an interesting mix of holes that offer plenty of variety. There are some tricky spots but you won't come across any carries over wetlands or ponds. Golfers will face long and challenging back-to-back par 5s starting with the 15th. This duo has the potential to ruin your score.

Always like playing this course
Course was in good shape. Busy but we played 18 in 4 hours. Carts are great.
Course is great, staff needs to be friendly, starter was not ice at all. Never saw a cart girl
Much Improved
The owners are doing a really good job out here. Course was in really good shape for early season. Traps are well maintained. Carts have GPS. Pace of play was a little slow; but it was one of the first really warm Sunday’s we have had early this year, so course was busy. Very good value at the discounted GolfNow rate!
Timber Trace
For being late in the season, the course was in great condition. The best conditioned public course I've played all year. Also, on the first tee we had to wait until the group ahead of us reach the first green. This kept the course from feeling crowded and the place of play not rushed.
Excellent Course
Friendly staff reasonably priced great greens well worth the price
2nd time here
Did not play well first time earlier this year. Went back to get some payback. Lowered my prior score by 9 strokes with some better putting. Greens are tricky. A number of times you think it is cozied up close to the hole only to watch it keep rolling to the left or right near the hole, Sand bunkers seemed different. "Heavy" sand is the best I can explain it. Left all 3 of my bunker shots short of the green. Suggest using the practice bunker before playing - I did not.
Great job by the new ownership
This course used to be in such bad shape which was a shame because the layout is great. The last 2 seasons have seen massive improvements in conditions.
