South/West at Tanglewood - The Lion
About
Tanglewood in South Lyon is home to 27 holes of championship golf that are collectively known as "The Lion." The holes are dived into three nines: the North, South, and West; that are played in three different combinations. The golf courses sprawl across a gently rolling landscape, which doesn't offer dramatic elevation changes but it is undulating enough to make finding a flat lie no easy feat. The South/West Course is tight, offering little room for error. There are creeks and ponds that come into play several times throughout and there are also out-of-bounds in play on most of the tee shots. The sixth hole on the West nine is called the "Michigan Hole," since the green is shaped like the lower-peninsula of Michigan, accented by a geographically correct replica of the Mackinac Bridge. The South/West combination is the club's most popular.

I ended up playing the west and north courses and bolts are in very good condition. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating this time around as opposed to my first time two years ago.
Great local course!
It’s not an Arcadia or Eagle Eye, but this is an excellent value for money, all 3 9-holes are fun and there’s not a stinker hole in the lot. The 3 9’s keep the pace up pretty well here and they have a very nice staff and nice bar. Excellent course and one of the best in the metro area.
Wet conditions
Unfortunately just to wet to get a good playing condition. The greens were super slow and wet.
Little bit of Golf Heaven
Amazing golf community and the way the course is structured and set up is a joy. Never having played the courses(there are three 9 hole layouts)I didn’t get lost once due to well marked cart paths throughout a “neighborhood “ track. I played the South then West courses. The ranges of difficulty are challenging for all levels of golfer and fairly hazardous creeks, bunkers, and “wasteland areas” require thinking your way around! Wished I would have tried the fish and chips, I will play here again. Awesome carts too!
Great Course
Even though it was very wet the greens were in amazing shape. With having three nine hole courses the they are able to manage which group starts on which course much more effectively then your traditional 18 hole course. I’ve played this course three times now and would very much recommend anyone who enjoys playing golf to play this course.
Home Course Never Disappoints!
This is my home course (I've been on a league here for 4 years) and hubby wanted to golf there this weekend. A lot of courses in the area have drainage problems, but this one is in pretty good shape for all the rain we have had here! There are a few small areas of unlevel fairway grass with tire/mud tracks, but overall it's beautiful! Very challenging - we played South and West. South can test your patience, but West was nice to finish on. We'll be back! Oh, we hit range balls, too. It's small, but there was room and no issues there.
Really Nice Course
The course is in great shape and I think it is set up very fair for the average golfer. For us today the only problem was it was a little busy and we played in just over 4 1/2 hours but overall great great
Course
This is a nice course but overpriced for what you get. There are several other courses close by at a lower price. Sand traps were horrible
Price
OK COME ON. Are you really charging your in season price when it’s 40 degrees out. Not a chance I’ll take some other course prices below $20. By the way a course who is home to a few universities is below $20.
