About
Located in between Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor, Washtenaw Golf Club, founded in 1899, is one of the most historic clubs in the state of Michigan. The club was private for most of its history, but an ownership change in 2019 turned this venerable layout into one of the area’s best public experiences. The 18-hole course plays 6,512 yards from the championship tees, though there are four sets of tees The club is in the midst of a multi-year restoration and enhancement project, guided by architect Ray Hearn, that includes green enlargements, tree management, and in the installation of some new championship tees. Facilities here include a putting green, small driving range, chipping green, and a large clubhouse, grill and bar, patio and event space.

Zach was inviting and it was a great experience
Zack Szawara was a pleasure to speak with when coming in for the first time. I have been a member at Country Clubs in the past and have played at many different private and public courses and I felt like a member talking with Zach. The course was fun and challenging. Hole #8 was a challenge, like I was warned, and walking away with a bogie was actually rewarding. Will definitely return to play here even though I am an hour away. Thank you for making me feel at home.

Old Gem
Love this course. Greens are tricky and sometimes blazing fast. Today normal speed. Tough pin placements 2steps from the edges. Great course will let you know how good your game is.

Where are the rangers
The good news Covid has increased the interest in golf the bad news the pace of play has suffered. The lack of understanding of that aspect influence the enjoyment of others. If you’re charging $60 a round you would think that you could have a ranger to police that.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!

2 groups of friends ruined the round for others
Had an 1112am tee-time which we teed off at. Unfortuantely we were behind 2 groups of 4 that were friends of each other, and they proceeded to slow down the course, as they kept on waiting for each other before teeing off on the next tee-box, as they kept being loud and also playing their music loud so we could even here, and the more beers they consumed the worse it got.We called the office and they came out and spoke to us, and they attempted to speak to the groups but not much of improvement unfortunately. Very sad that some have not ethics when they come out to a golf course and messes up for others. Greeens were extremely fast, below the hole is a must. Lot's of renovations work going on, over 200 trees cut down. Sure hope they remodel hole #8. Sad we had a bad day, but we will be back.

Horrible pace of play
The teetimes were stacked and each group had 5 and 6 somes. Got 8 holes in 3 hours
