About
Located in between Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor, Washtenaw Golf Club, founded in 1899, is one of the most historic clubs in the state of Michigan. The club was private for most of its history, but an ownership change in 2019 turned this venerable layout into one of the area’s best public experiences. The 18-hole course plays 6,512 yards from the championship tees, though there are four sets of tees The club is in the midst of a multi-year restoration and enhancement project, guided by architect Ray Hearn, that includes green enlargements, tree management, and in the installation of some new championship tees. Facilities here include a putting green, small driving range, chipping green, and a large clubhouse, grill and bar, patio and event space.

A traditional country club feel
Washtenaw golf club offers a traditional golf experience. Once on the first tee look behind you to notice a very cool view of the clubhouse. Then tee off to start your experience. You will first notice the beautiful old trees on basically every hole. And if you get into those trees it’s best to take your medicine and punch out to the fairway. You will also notice that what makes this course very challenging are the very slick and slanted greens. They are fun!!! The course is beautiful and it’s a hidden gem in Ypsilanti. It was established in 1899 so if you decide not to ride the walk from green to tee is very short. It’s a fun experience and I wish the new owners all the best. Great course!!!

Good as usual
This course usually is good, can’t remember a time I’ve had a bad experience. Even being paired up with people I don’t know I still found my round to be enjoyable. Course just genuinely looks nice, definitely a hidden gem in Ypsilanti.

Best course in SE Michigan!!!
Washtenaw GC is an old school, traditional layout. The course was in great shape, with emphasis on the greens. I enjoy the challenge of the golf course and will be back to play again. The staff is very friendly and informative.
