About
Located in between Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor, Washtenaw Golf Club, founded in 1899, is one of the most historic clubs in the state of Michigan. The club was private for most of its history, but an ownership change in 2019 turned this venerable layout into one of the area’s best public experiences. The 18-hole course plays 6,512 yards from the championship tees, though there are four sets of tees The club is in the midst of a multi-year restoration and enhancement project, guided by architect Ray Hearn, that includes green enlargements, tree management, and in the installation of some new championship tees. Facilities here include a putting green, small driving range, chipping green, and a large clubhouse, grill and bar, patio and event space.

Best course in SE Michigan!!!
Washtenaw GC is an old school, traditional layout. The course was in great shape, with emphasis on the greens. I enjoy the challenge of the golf course and will be back to play again. The staff is very friendly and informative.

A gem
This course used to be private. Played it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and loved it so I came back. It’s a gorgeous course with lots of hills and trees and variety. Challenging but enjoyable. I believe it is one of the oldest courses in Michigan. Staff is super friendly and go out of their way to give you a great experience. Rates are Really reasonable for such a solid course.

Greens were fast, play was slow. Expected though on a Saturday afternoon. You could see that it was going towards the end of the season, fairways had quite a few bumps..
Overall good value for the money

Great course, way too slow
This is a wonderful traditional course with a beautiful layout. The green is excellent and being an old course it is set up perfectly for walking. If you are flexible for your play time you can play this course less than $30 easily. But it is waaayyy too slow during the day. I try to play as early as possible because it took at least 4.5 h during the day, even on weekdays. If I play as the first one out I can finish in less than 2.5 h. Also, contrary to green, the tee box is in a bad shape. They really need to maintain the tee box better.
Still this course became my favorite in Ann Arbor area.
Still great
Played this course previously and still a great place to play. Played with my dad, they hooked us up with two singles, and had a great time! Rough wasn’t as think as I remember last time, greens were still in great shape, fairways great, tee boxes a little chewed up, but definitely a great track! Guys inside and young lady at the bar at the turn were all top notch! Thanks again for having us out, we will be back!

Great course and value
The greens are very challenging and fast; well maintained! The tee boxes need work and so does the driving range.but not enough to keep me from coming back!
If I lived in the area I'd play here every week!

Country Club for the public
If you’ve never played a country club course before this is your chance. This course has a great set up and can really test you. The layout is that of a traditional Country Club, but for the Value golfer. The conditions aren’t perfect, but there’s not much to complain about out here. Love this course and may be my new home course.

Sand on greens
So i understand as i work on a golf course about the need to airafy and top dress. Why you would do it on a friday before weekend play is beyond me. Usually it's done monday tuesday so the sand has a chance to stay in the ground. This morning there was sand all over the greens. They should have had a blower right behind the roller this morning or a drag mat. The course was fine except for the greens putting on chunks of sand and paying 50 dollars. I will not be back to pay that price on sand.
We appreciate you taking the time to offer your feedback from a golf staff's point of view. We would like to clarify that we schedule aerification on the same week every year, typically early in the week on a Tuesday and Wednesday. However, this year due to the rain we had to push it to Wednesday and Thursday. We understand the frustration you experienced on your day of play, but we assure you our greens are always better with this process and we hope you'll give us another shot soon.
