About
Located in between Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor, Washtenaw Golf Club, founded in 1899, is one of the most historic clubs in the state of Michigan. The club was private for most of its history, but an ownership change in 2019 turned this venerable layout into one of the area’s best public experiences. The 18-hole course plays 6,512 yards from the championship tees, though there are four sets of tees The club is in the midst of a multi-year restoration and enhancement project, guided by architect Ray Hearn, that includes green enlargements, tree management, and in the installation of some new championship tees. Facilities here include a putting green, small driving range, chipping green, and a large clubhouse, grill and bar, patio and event space.

Did not have a good setting today, but the course was in great shape.

Washtenaw GC
Nice course that will challenge you. Stay out of trees though. Greens can be tricky based on pin placement. However, didn’t get any kind of refund when it was walk only due to rain.
Horrible experience
The new “director of golf” Alec. Tried to exort a friend and I into paying an extra $130 to play as a two some. There was not only open space to play as a two but let the three som behind us play on as-is. Not sure who is staffing the place these days but should be seriously looked into. This guy should not be in a position of power because he clearly looks to abuse it. — at W

Since yours was a Hot Deal time, it should have been stated in GolfNow’s booking process that golfers are subject to getting paired up once at the course, and to guarantee the other slots requires an additional fee. Great last minute tee time
Course was busy but able to get in early in morning. We had to walk which wasn’t that bad, great course and great layout for walking.

Nice traditional course
100 year old country club recently went public. Course is In excellent condition and the staff were very friendly. Very crowded on the Thursday we played but the pace was decent . The food and beverage offerings were minimal, Would highly recommend

Perfect experience
1st time playing and I promise it won’t be my last! Played on a Monday morning, and felt like I ran into grounds crew on almost every hole. That was the only bad, on to the good...Cart attendant pulled cart behind my vehicle before I even got out! I was a single and the pro shop attendant snuck me out early in front of a couple 4-somes. Best greens I’ve played in a long time. Fairways were in great shape. Rough was thick, lost 2 balls in rough just off the fairway, could be frustrating but a great test! I ran into a four some and let me pass right away, played 18 holes in under 3 hours. Wish I would have played more and stayed longer. All grounds crew, and personnel were top notch! Keep the ball straight in the fairway and you’re good, get a little sideways and you’ll slash out of thick rough, get real loose and you’ll have tree trouble.... Go see these guys and have fun! May be my new favorite in SE Michigan and it’s a good drive from Clarkston!

Very nice course - small greens & tight fairways
Been wanting to play this course for sometime. I live about 35 mins away and got a hot deal. Very good deal and well worth the money. I’d say it’s still worth the Reg Price of around $48. I will definitely play here again. Old style course. Small hilly greens, tight tree lined fairways, lots of sand, good elevation, and some water on 4-5 holes. Fairways were in A+ condition. Greens were also nice and rolled true. Pace of play was my only complaint. I was by myself and had a 4-some in front of me from about hole 7 on. Never let me pass thru. My the 18th hope there were 3 people waiting behind me. Playing no gimmes, measure every putt, look 3 times, practice twice, etc. I’m waiting on every shot and they see me and keep playing ahead. If your gonna play slow or for money, let people pass. Very simple. Other than that I’d say the rating is dead on. 4.2 out of 5.
