Nice lay out
Very nice lay out, but the condition of the fairways were horrible. Worth $35 not $50 a round.
Tough course. Terrific service
Front nine is very hilly, but well documented on the card and tee box signs. Greens are fast and true. Pro shop service was very courteous and fast. Bar and restaurant service was also great.
Decent condition for a Muni but not for a member-owned track
After playing this course, it dawned on me that there are no bunkers on the course! I had to go back and look at a Google map to determine if that was true. Turns out there are 3 bunkers... 2 on hole #2 and 1 bunker on #10.
It's only defense are the elevation changes, tree-lined fairways, some blind shots and tiny greens. Water hazards aren't relevant. Having played hundreds of golf courses nationwide (I was a truck driver) this layout looks like a municipal design. Not architectually challenging which makes sense since the architect (Bill Kit) only designed one golf course... this one! Must've been a city employee or the farmer who's land it was. I played once before (many years ago) and it can be a muddy bog after rains... course doesn't drain well.
Very fun
I love old fashion golf courses with tree lined fairways. I also like small greens as long as they are well kept and these are. I do like the course staff is great
Worth the drive!
Drove an hour each way to play here. Not disappointed at all. Will definitely play here again!
Fun layout at ERGC
Played the blue tees on a nice Sunday afternoon and it was plenty long. Elevation change, water, and doglegs add to the character and challenge of the course. While not top end grass and bunkers, it was still well worth the round. We will return.
Tough Test
Course was in great condition from the tee boxes to the greens. I highly recommend ERGC. It’s a tough test of golf out there with false fronts on almost every green, small and slick as well.
Ha!! The course must've kicked your butt!! You're the only "Fair" rating...
