Always have to play with someone else
There are too many good courses in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa that don't require you to fill out a foursome. Every time I have played at this course I end up being stuck with 1 or 2 other players - playing different tee boxes - different pace of play, etc. NOT FUN.
Change your policies and I will come back!
Great course
My brother and I really enjoyed playing this course. Nice people, good upkeep, and good beer selections!
Greens had recently been sanded
The greens had recently been airiated and sanded.
Was a little bumpy.
Good value
fun course to play and a good value!
User-friendly course
User-friendly course (i.e. not many forced carries over hazards, nice greens, wide fairways)...Pace of play excellent...Friendly staff...Course condition above average...I would definitely play here again.
Nice day on the golf course
The golf now hot deal made it more affordable, the course is in good shape and challenging. The food and drinks at the grill / bar were worth the drive on their own. Pleasant staff!
Day 1 of golf weekend
fun course, play moved along nicely, many interesting holes.
Course was in great shape but slow greens.
Course is forgiving yet has some challenging holes. Greens were slow and so was play. No Ranger and the locals don't understand the concept of letting people play through.

Low Pressure Recreational Golf at a Fair Price
Played in mid-April so it's hard to know what summer conditions are like, but overall the course was in good condition considering the leaves on the trees hadn't budded out yet. It's not a stiff challenge, so low handicappers would be bored, but it was perfect for easing into the season. You might think it slightly monotonous for the first 11 holes, but then it gets interesting and downright scenic the rest of the way. A good value, and with the right group I'd make the drive again.
Hi "fschneid001" We appreciate you taking the time to review our course. We are glad you enjoyed your round with us today. Please come back and visit us again in your next group golf outing!
Good course, I would like to play it again sometime
I actually really liked, and was impressed with, the Legacy golf course. Somewhat challenging the entire round but the length of the course, which was on the short side (6416 from the blacks/tips), made it a little easier. From the blacks, the scorecard says a slope of 140, GolfAdvisor says 134, I would say 134 felt like the closer of those two.
Most holes were pretty straight, only 3 or 4 holes that were much of a dogleg. However, the fairways were all typically a bit jerky, almost a little snaky at times, and somewhat undulating and/or sloping with plenty of humps to push your ball around a bit. A number of holes with well-placed fairway bunkers and/or a few nearby trees you'll want to avoid. Not a lot of trees, though; pretty open (slightly more so on the front 9) as long as you avoid all the hazard stakes and out of bounds stakes (mostly along all the houses).
Our foursome all hit drivers off the tee on every hole except for 2 holes, both on back 9 (#12 & #18). The back 9 was a little narrower at times than the front 9, which was more of a links style, but nothing too crazy and I still thought both 9s felt pretty similar at times.
Greens were nice, a little more curvy than a simple circle or oval, and they all had some break but nothing crazy. I thought the greens were usually harder to hit than to putt on. There was frequently a fair amount of trouble near the greens, especially near the hole placement, with a safer portion farther away from the pin.
Holes were all very well marked: the yardage markers I noticed were at 100, 150, 200, 250, and they even had plates to mark 125 yards. The openness of the course can amplify the effect of the wind some. Pace was a little backed up on the front 9 (pretty busy and I think there was a fivesome ahead of us) but cleared up on the back 9. We had a noon tee time on a Tuesday in early November.
We greatly appreciate your thorough review of the course, tmoen17! We are glad you enjoyed the course and found the challenge playable. We hope you'll come down and visit us again!
Fun course to play
The course was in great shape, and the fairways were remarkably free of leaves for this time of year. You can't beat fall golf with sunny skies and temps in the mid 60s. There were 5 golfers in the group ahead of us, but delays were minimal.
uHTEC3345HT - We love getting awesome reviews like this, thank you! So glad you're experience at The Legacy was enjoyable and we hope to have you back again soon!
Nice course, lousy bar/restaurant
Course was in nice shape, good value on Golfnow. But, post-round experience was terrible....poor, indifferent service at the bar. Second time this has happened. Unhappy end to a nice day.

Easy going golf
This is a nice relaxing track with no real stressful challenges. The first 12 holes are pretty straight forward, then it gets a little tighter, but even from the tips, it's still relatively short. I think it's set up for and caters to seniors, which seem to populate the facility pretty heavily. That's great! Greens and fairways are in great shape and the course is fun. GO PLAY!
We appreciate your recommendation, operabass1! We strive to offer an enjoyable round for golfers of all skill levels, and we're glad you found the course in great conditions!
No course marshall to monitor pace of play.
The deal would have been good had the pace of play not been very slow.
The last time we saw the marshall was at the first tee.
Easy On Easy to Play
made this Sunday pm tee time on Saturday, running late when we arrived and still got off without a hitch. Play was smooth going, interesting and different holes, with challenging pars from the tips. Thankfully the greens were not as fast as they could have been - lots of slopes. Golf carts are old and noisy gas.
Decent course
We played when the heat index was about 100 so there weren't many golfers out. Very fast pace of play, never waited. Course is I'm nice shape.
Hade wings and quesadillas afterwards and both were very good. Staff couldn't have been nicer.
Course great!
The course was in great shape. Greens fast and true and well maintained. The customer service was just ok at best.
Nice layout, good setting, good value
My brother and I played this course for the first time. It's a very relaxing atmosphere. The course is challenging, but fair. The staff and others we met were very friendly. We had food in the clubhouse that was delicious and also a good value.
good deal
we played this course got 1 of the hot deals From golfnow.com. it was a bit of a drive to get to the course but it was well worth the drive.I will play it again In the future.
