legacy at faribault
great course, good design, enjoyable round I recommend the course
Faribault Legacy is in A1 condition
The Legacy in Faribault is in perfect condition. I shoot in the high 80s and need additional fairway which is generously offered on most holes. The back 9 tightens up with tighter fairways and #12 green to putt that ought to be outlawed. This is an easy links course that is extremely enjoyable for any level of golfer.
Worth the drive
about 45 minute drive from the metro, but prices on golfnow well worth it.
Started on back 9, better of the two, very enjoyable course.
Don't get the hotdogs, buns were stale
Great course for the money
Legacy has really amped up their game. The course is lush and greens are quick.
Top Notch!
Very, very, well maintained. The front 9 and back 9 have different layout styles. Front 9 is links style fairway, back 9 has atraditional layout. Very challenging, yest fun. Not a long course, but has some wife fairways. Being able to recover off the tee is possible here. It's a steal at Hot deal price for 18 and a cart here.
Wonderful Course...but...
A little hard to find but what a beautiful course and facilities. We will definitely go back. Inside staff were friendly and we had a wonderful day to play. Very fast greens, the fastest I've ever played. That's what makes it a 130+ slope. The course isn't that difficult except for the greens.
The one problem we had was a maintence mower that followed us for several holes and acted like WE were in his way. He drove for 80 yards right at me while I waited to hit. He mowed the far side of the fairway as we were trying to play a ball on the near side. We waited for him to pull out of our way several times. Hopefully next time he will not be there.
Like I said, we will go back again in a heart beat!
Great value and pace of play
Second time we've played the course this summer. It is about 40mins drive for us, but well worth the drive. Course is in good condition, staff is great and we played 18 holes in about 3 hours. Mostly twosomes, and we had a cart, so we were able to fly around the course. Some of the bunkers could use some more sand in the bottoms.
Enjoyed a post round Bloody Mary on the patio.
Great Experience
My wife and I played Legacy on a Wednesday, teeing off around noon. There was not a lot of play and we went off on our own; we moved along freely and finished the round in a little over 3 hours. The course was in very good shape, especially considering all of the rain as of late. It was a nice design, with some woods and water mixed into the layout. The greens were very good and fairly fast. We noticed as we checked in that a lot of folks were dining in the restaurant, so after the round we sat down for a drink and something to eat. We were very pleased to find out that they have a happy hour from 3-6. I was especially pleased to find out they had a wide selection of beers, including Summit Saga IPA on tap. They also have excellent hamburgers. We ate and drank for a very affordable price, making the whole experience very positive. We will definitely return.
Fun course
Worth checking out but not a course you would go out of your way to see.
Nice course
Started on #10. Played well on the backside and not so well on the front. I liked the greens and the overall condition of the course. Grounds crew were right out there, and working diligently. Front side is a bit monotonous but enjoyed the views on the back 9. Definitely worth a round if you have not played here.
The Legacy is good course
The Legacy is a forgiving course and is always in excellent shape. I don't think I have ever played an over 4 hour round. I play from the Black to add extra length because it isn't the longest course. When the wind blows it can be difficult course because of how open it is.
Bottom line is I will travel 45 minutes from Bloomington to play this course rather than play any of the many of the municipal city courses.
A fair but challenging course
I played the Legacy yesterday for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised, especially by the back nine.
The course definitely offers it's challenges but it always does so in a fair way making for a fun round.
I will definitely go back again, especially when the rate was only $15. This is a great deal and I thought it was worth the effort to drive there.
If you haven't played the Legacy I would recommend giving it a try.
to many 5 somes
the front nine was held up due to a couple of 5 somes of older ladies. In spite of the sign by the putting green stating all groups
will start at hole No. 1 a 5some teed off in front of us as we were making the turn from 9 to 10. This made for a slow pace of play on the back 9 as well. We were standing watching this group tee off on every hole and they always took off in hurry as to not ask us to play thru. after they hit their drives on no. 18 they then had us hit our drives and play thru. ON THE LAST HOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Due to this bush league act I doubt I'll ever play this course again.
Excellent Value-Great Staff
Legacywas a great surprise! It appears to be a somewhat newer course, perhaps less than 20 years old but well defined and a wonderful challenge. Thoroughly enjoyable and I would recommend anyone willing to drive a short distance to Faribault.
First timers friendly
Played there for the first time , gotta say it's a pretty decent course. Would recommend it to anyone.
Not worth trip for just golf
Nice course in pretty good condition and with a little challenge, Worth playing if you are in the area, but not worth a long drive just to play the course. Price was great and walking is pretty easy.
Good time on a good course
Went there on a last minute deal.....several of us were out for the first time this year. Nice weather, course in very good shape for early season play. Some trouble on a few holes. Nothing unfair. Drop areas accommodating to beginner golfers. I'd come back again. A couple blind tee shots (7 and 9). If you want a long course, this isn't it.
great value
greens were very good, back 9 was much more interesting then the front. great value for the money.
Good basic course
This is a straightforward what you see is what you get course. Very few twists or surprises. Most holes are straight and pretty wide open, which surprised me as the slope was 140 from modest 6400 yd back tees. Played comparable to about a 123 or so slope. condition was very good but aeration of greens still a week or so away from true roll. Not to bad but will cost 2-3 putting strokes along the way till then. To long a drive for me to go back as it was good but not great. Pro shop staff was great. Bartender not so much.
Great value!
This course is great for the mid handicap player . If you have a junior golfer bring them along as they have a junior tee too . Great value for the price. I would do the drive again.
