A fair but challenging course
I played the Legacy yesterday for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised, especially by the back nine.
The course definitely offers it's challenges but it always does so in a fair way making for a fun round.
I will definitely go back again, especially when the rate was only $15. This is a great deal and I thought it was worth the effort to drive there.
If you haven't played the Legacy I would recommend giving it a try.
to many 5 somes
the front nine was held up due to a couple of 5 somes of older ladies. In spite of the sign by the putting green stating all groups
will start at hole No. 1 a 5some teed off in front of us as we were making the turn from 9 to 10. This made for a slow pace of play on the back 9 as well. We were standing watching this group tee off on every hole and they always took off in hurry as to not ask us to play thru. after they hit their drives on no. 18 they then had us hit our drives and play thru. ON THE LAST HOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Due to this bush league act I doubt I'll ever play this course again.
Excellent Value-Great Staff
Legacywas a great surprise! It appears to be a somewhat newer course, perhaps less than 20 years old but well defined and a wonderful challenge. Thoroughly enjoyable and I would recommend anyone willing to drive a short distance to Faribault.
First timers friendly
Played there for the first time , gotta say it's a pretty decent course. Would recommend it to anyone.
Not worth trip for just golf
Nice course in pretty good condition and with a little challenge, Worth playing if you are in the area, but not worth a long drive just to play the course. Price was great and walking is pretty easy.
Good time on a good course
Went there on a last minute deal.....several of us were out for the first time this year. Nice weather, course in very good shape for early season play. Some trouble on a few holes. Nothing unfair. Drop areas accommodating to beginner golfers. I'd come back again. A couple blind tee shots (7 and 9). If you want a long course, this isn't it.
great value
greens were very good, back 9 was much more interesting then the front. great value for the money.
Good basic course
This is a straightforward what you see is what you get course. Very few twists or surprises. Most holes are straight and pretty wide open, which surprised me as the slope was 140 from modest 6400 yd back tees. Played comparable to about a 123 or so slope. condition was very good but aeration of greens still a week or so away from true roll. Not to bad but will cost 2-3 putting strokes along the way till then. To long a drive for me to go back as it was good but not great. Pro shop staff was great. Bartender not so much.
Great value!
This course is great for the mid handicap player . If you have a junior golfer bring them along as they have a junior tee too . Great value for the price. I would do the drive again.
Nice course and getting better with the new addition of a training facility.
Course was in great shape much better than the shape of my game. The wind was up when we played so it really made it a challenge to keep the ball in play on some holes. The greens were fast and all of the greens are a challenge to putt on due to the size of the greens and the many different levels to the greens. The views were awesome and the staff was great. If you are looking for a great course and a great value this is it.
Play if you get the chance
In my own personal opinion, I like golf courses that get you off to a relatively easy start. I think this can be said about both the first and tenth holes. They are not too overly difficult and should get your round off to a decent beginning with the much tougher holes coming a bit later. I really enjoy playing golf here and although it isn't very long, it is still a good test for average golfers like myself.
Nice Course
The Legacy was in good condition this late in the season and nice .
Great course
Average players will love this course. Its fairly open and all the par 4's are reachable in 2. A great course to shot a good score on. They also have a driving range and a great putting green. Everything you need for an enjoyable round of golf. I highly recommend it.
very nice course
I was fortunate to be paired with someone familiar with the course because the look from many tees is deceiving. The Legacy plays short even from the tips, so its major defense is large, undulating greens surrounded by subtle mounding. The front nine is pretty open, while the back 9 is more parkland style. On a windy day I expect the course would be even more "resistant to scoring." The turf was lush from tee-to-green & the greens were smooth & quick. Worth a trip at least once.
Nice layout, well maintained, enjoyable experience
Nice layout, excellent condition, pace of play was great, greens were challenging and hard for me to read on the front 9, shot +4 on the front, but figured them out on the back 9 shooting -1 on the back.
Look forward to coming back and playing their Legends course.
Great pace of play today.
Course was in great condition. The greens were quick and pin placements were challenging all day. The course showed a more difficult side today than I had ever seen before.
The greens are the difficult part of this course
The course is in great shape. The rough is not overly long but the grass is thick and lush. Shots from the rough do not fly as far as expected. The greens are immaculate. They have plenty of slope to them and several are very difficult to read correctly. The group in front of us was playing exceptionally slow. The ranger came by on the 5th hole and asked them to speed up. It helped a little but still played slower than what I like. Over all an enjoyable round of golf.
Great value
Easy booking and was allowed on well before scheduled tee time. Staff was courteous with the starter being helpful about where the first couple of holes were.
The course was in good condition with the only con being the bunkers. The sand was hard and wet (it had rained the night before) and filled with ordinary bunker sand. Fairways and greens were nice with some of the greens being challenging. Most of the holes were well laid out with only one being "tricky", a severe dogleg left.
The club house was nice if not smallish. Stopped for a hot dog at the turn and wished I hadn't. It took several minutes for the hot dog and it turned out to be worse than one from a gas station. To be fair the cook had several burgers and other things cooking but it would have been nice to have been told it would be a few minutes before paying. Luckily my group was not being pressed.
Quick Greens!
The Legacy is a great value for any golfer of almost all skill levels. It has some of the toughest greens that I have played this year, and always makes for an interesting first couple holes if your'e not ready. Overall I love going down there as much as I can, just wish it was about 15 minutes closer!
Pristinely maintained as it has been raining for the last 2 months and superb conditions.
Totally impressed by course condition as heavy rains has not deterred the quality of course. Greens are undulating and sneaky.
