Nice fall day
This is a wonderful track even though there are a few blind shots there is plenty enough room away from trouble and the greens putted with speed that is about perfect to play on, really enjoyed this course will play again soon
Good Challenge
This course is perfect for golfers in the 10-20 handicap range because if your playing good it's very forgiving and open but if your off it can be very tough, I've said for quite a few years now they need to invent a ball with GPS in it where you can find it with an app on your phone because this would have come in handy on this course because there are shots where you can't see your ball finish so be careful where your hitting to and how far. This is a course everybody should play for the challenge and value price.
Needs Work
Played this course only because of the great deal, $29/18 & cart. Course was green, but the greens were in terrible shape. Way too many spike/divot marks on the greens and the grass was very thin in spots. Never got a smooth roll on the putts. The grass on the tee boxes was unkept and long. If they kept good care of the course, it could be really good. Either needs better yardage markers on the course or GPS; tough to figure out distances, especially on the par 3's. #13 green is the worst on the course, never in good condition. Overall, not worth the money unless you get a significant discount or they make some upgrades.
Affordable buy. Modern layout.
The price makes this course a very attractive buy. The course is a great modern layout although there are many blind tee and layup shots. The course seemed a bit over watered which has magnified the effect of high golfer traffic. The greens were still fast and undulating. The course has more potential than it showed the day I played. Overall I was still glad I came as this is one of those courses a person should play at least once.
Quick review
The course was in great shape but the greens needed some more attention. They were just mowed getting ready for their club championship and clumps of grass were left all over the greens. A nice course for using different clubs off the tee box. They could use some rangers to speed up the pace of play.
Tricky, hidden hazards.
Fun to play but there are hidden hazards that must be avoided and several holes where a 225 yard drive down the middle can reach the hazard.
Enjoyable but not unique
I played the course early on Sunday morning with scattered showers and wet conditions. The course is a moderately difficult track, with a few holes in the backside demonstrating some interesting characteristics. All in all, it is enjoyable but not one that I would put in my list of favorites. Friendly staff and well-maintained clubhouse. The course shows the effect of the rainy weather this spring and summer.
Good value
It was an excellent value, and considering all the rain we've had, the course was in pretty good shape. The staff was also very personable and accommodating. I would recommend this course on a hot deal to friends and associates.
First time playing here?
I played two days after heavy rainfall and the course was still soggy at some spots. The first few holes seem pretty boring, even a little frustrating as so many players end up in your fairway and you in theirs. There are few trees through the first few holes so the course starts out very easy, save the many blind shots.
Then the course gets very challenging and a lot of fun. The first time playing it is frustrating, because you really aren't sure where to hit. Bring a GPS if you've got one. There are many fairways that start out open, then bottleneck into some trees, then open up to elevated greens. Very tough. The back nine is much more scenic, with some more tough greens and lots of water. All of the par three's are fun.
If you're playing for the first time, use your scorecard and have some patience. Expect that following your round, you're going to want to play it again and get revenge!
a challenging course
got good deal on golf now so decided to play this challenging course 30 minutes south of twin cities. Had some holes with tough approach shots over water or wetlands. Greens were in good shape and rolled nice, but some fairway traps were in really bad shape. Had to position some shots off some tees with right club. Overall I would say it was worth the drive and the money.
Quick Play
I teed off at 6:30 am and was finished by 9 am...love those quick rounds. I played the front nine really sloppy and didn't have a par..but then I played the wooded back nine and had a great time..Go figure.!
Lots of sun and fun..I'll go back again for sure.
Target Golf
Target Golf with blind shots. Helps if you know the course. Greens were very fast and ground very hard. Was difficult on many greens to get the ball to stop and got a lot of roll in the fairways. Had some bunkers that were not let go and stuff growing in them. Takes away from the beauty. Some bunkers were true sand, others were not. Pace of play was horribly slow. Did not see a Ranger or Players Assistant to help speed up play. Good course for the money and very challenging. Will play it again.
OK Value
You can't blame the course for the poor weather conditions the day we played. Day was cold and the wind was 15-20 and seemed worse. A lot of the holes are exposed to the wind. Pick a calm day to play here.
I have played here a number of times and even with the prior experience, there are quite a few blind shots and I guessed wrong most of the time. The course was a little rough but appropriate for this early in the season. The greens had a ton of ball marks.
The $25 green fee was a good deal all things considered. I would feel cheated if I paid the full rate however. My recommendation is based on getting the lower rate.
GPS
Overall course is ok. I wish they had GPS though. I had some very nice drives but when I went over the hill my ball was in a marsh. GPS would be nice.
course description
this golf course is very hilly, very few trees between fairways (sometime you don't know which fairway is which because all fairways are next to each other and there are no trees to separates each fairway. hard to understand where to aim when hitting driver plus some fairways are so hilly that you just guess and hit a blind drive towards the flag.). i would certainly recommend planting more trees to separates fairways ..too much hills in first 9 holes.. way too much... many blind shots...otherwise average course to play. one more thing.. i played there twice but both time it was very windy ..for some reason it was very windy..may be because of vast openess of the fairway with very few tress...
Good conditions for start of the year
First, round of the season. The greens and tee boxes were in very good shape! Fairways were also in pretty good shape this early in the season.
I will play out here about half a dozen times a year. They sometimes have amazing deals! Staff is always accommodating and friendly
The course is generally in very good condition all year. The value is great.
The course itself is moderately challenging. The first time I played I felt like their were too many blind shots with trouble waiting for you. Now that I play it more often I know the course and that helps a ton! I avoid most of the trouble. You also will have to use different clubs. You can't just take a driver off the tee everytime. I like that it challenges me to use my 4 and 5 iron.
Blustery Day
The course is nice and enjoyable, but this particular day the winds were constant and stiff. If the forecast calls for 10-15 sustained winds you can almost double that for this course. Most of the holes on the back are into the wind....that is the 9 I played. This is a very good course to play, but be aware that if you head out there on a blustery day the winds will definitely affect your game.
They needed a ranger to keep pace enforced
We already had 6 carts backed up on the 10th tee when they decided that evidently wasn't enough carts and allowed 4 older ladies (the old ladies were great except their drives went no further than 20 yards.) we couldn't get around anyone to jump on the next tee because it seemed each tee box had 2-4 carts waiting for holes 11,12,13, and 14. Trust me. We tried and dragged our cart back dejected and went back in cue.
We finally had to jump off the 16th tee at 1:50pm (our tee time was 9:15am.)
It was $29 bucks too much. I golf to de-stress not have golf balls whipping by me, people driving all over the putting greens and the obsessed golfer who won't get a new ball after looking for a stray for 15 minutes. They seriously. Need. A. Ranger.
This is a course which requires good course management.
I have played this course several times and I'm challenged each time. It is a links style course with many blind shots because of the because of the course layout.
This time out was the best value of any time I've played here. I got a hot deal on Golf Now and paid less than $15.00 for 18 holes with a cart. A super value for the money to play a very good course thatis in great condition. It is also very convenient to my home.
Course is close to home and with Golf now - affordable.
I like this course, it is tough on a windy day but normally in good shape. lots of blind shots on the back - sometimes good sometimes bad. Hate to loose a ball when you feel like you had a great shot but it can happen on 15 and 16. I love wrapping up on 18 - you have to know the course to shoot well.
