5 Stars
I was really worried about booking a tee time so far away from the city specially because of my name Muhammad, but the staff was very kind and friendly. I had a wonderful time and the course condition was 5 stars all the way. The greens are so beautiful and roll so true, just in excellent condition. Thanks so much to the grounds crew. I will be coming back here. Thanks for such a wonderful time.
Slow going
Pace of play was slow. Course was in good shape for early in the year. The greens were not very receptive. Greens very hard.
The death march
I know the course well and it sometimes plays slow but Sunday was ridiculous, 5 HOURS and 10 MINUTES!!!!!!!! Perfect weather, no wind, why does it move so slow??? Where is the RANGER?
Not going back until they get a ranger out there.
Course
Great course in great condition. Golf now process was easy with no negative issues. Will absolutely play and use both again!
Nice course but not easy
It was a course you need to play more than once to find out where not to hit the ball. Narrow openings on some holes and big trees blocking shots to the greens if you are on he wrong side of the fairway. Challenging but fun. Very fast greens that look like they break one way but may not break at all. Yah, I'd like to play it again.
The fairways were beautiful. The greens weren't fast but were in good condition. The only negative was we were stuck behind an unbelievably slow group for the front nine. They quite after 9 or we might have given up.

Nice layout with challenges
Nice course for all, challenges that require some shot placement and greens that offer challenging pin placement.
Excellent value, worth the trip from the north suburbs.
I play the Monticello course several times a year, usually through Golf Now on one of their hot deals. The course is an average small town club style course. There are a few holes that need improvement including numbers four and five, were trimming some of the overhanging trees could improve the overall design.
The course Pro is very friendly and competent. My one criticism would be some of the staff treat nonmembers with a high level of disrespect. In an industry where customer service is critical, I would suggest the staff members learn to treat all customers with courtesy and respect. This may be indicative of a smaller town quasi-private country club, but it does reflect on the overall experience.
Despite the above criticism, which can be taken as a opportunities to improve service, I would recommend the course as an excellent value close to the Twin Cities.
Nice course. Even with the drive.
This course is fun. Good condition. Good price. We had a good time. It was a tad slow but not awful.
We will be back.
First time nice surprise
Thought the course was a good value . Will play there again.
Course was in good condition for this time of year. Greens were consistent. Would definitely play again.
Exceptional Pace
We walked, and actually had to work to keep up with the group in front. Finished well under 4 hours and the course was full on a Saturday. Greens were great for April 1st. Nice variety of parkland holes, a couple of blind tee shots, but the tree lines help guide.
worth the drive
If you are in the Monticello area it's worth a try. Staff is always friendly and using Golfnow is never a problem with them.
Fall Golf
Everything good OTHER than people hitting multiple balls like it's their driving range and not fixing divots and or ball marks
Enjoyable Course
The course and greens were is excellent condition. Downed leaves were blown off the fairways and greens. Very courteous staff.
