Great day on the course. I would suggest a little better care of the roughs, but with all the rain its hard to keep up with the mowing. Greens were in great shape, staff was pleasant.
Nice find northwest of cities
Nice layout, good distance between fairways don't have to worry about errant shots. Course was in great shape 1st time on course but will be back. Some fun holes.
Father/Daughter golf day
Course in best condition in years well worth the trip over.
Monticello golf
Course in great shape. Staff was great
Fun and Playable
Monticello is one of my favorites northwest of the cities. It's got some good testing holes, isn't terribly long. Greens are easy to read / putt.
Good golf course for the money.
This golf course offers challenging holes at a great price. I have played here many times, and the shape of the course is always great. Greens are firm and fast and roll true.
Playable, well kept, scenic and fun course
I played this course the day after heavy all day rains. I was impressed with how well the course drained. Course conditions were great and offered a playable layout for a playable who's got a good long game.
Nice little track. VEERRY slow play
I like the layout for the most part. I didn't play it in 2015 (Had to pick a date in the year so I just grabbed one in early part of the year). It has some great holes (number 9 is a good tough par 4). They used to have super slick greens but in the past few years they slowed them way down. I once lipped out a putt on 15 and my putt went off the green. Much more normal speeds as of late.
The biggest problem I grew sick of was the pace of play. They shortened their time between tee times a few years ago and I frequently encountered 5 hour plus rounds. You'd cruise through 1 and 2. Then you'd come around the corner to the par 3 third and there'd be 3 groups sitting there. In fairness its a very tough hole so people do struggle. But they've got to do something about that via rangers, or widen the tee times back out.
If you can get on during a weekday when it would be a quicker pace then go for it. You'll like the round. The front nine is a little more wooded (it was built long before the back) and has a couple of cool holes around a small creek and a twister of a par 5 along the freeway. Back nine has a couple of fun holes. 14 has a rollercoaster of a green and can induce a 4 putt if you're not careful. 18 is a great finishing par 5. But if theres a few 5somes out in front of you... Better pack a lunch.
Well maintained, interesting/varied layout, low cut rough, lots of trees, some target golf holes, lots of doglegs
Course was well maintained: fairways, greens, and tee boxes were all in great shape. Rough was cut pretty short, pretty easy to hit out of and find ball in. Lots of trees, plenty of water, sand traps around the greens and sometimes along the fairways. Greens were not dome-shaped (thank God), were honest, and all had some break but nothing too crazy.
Course layout was varied enough to keep things interesting, plenty of holes with their own distinct character. At least half of the holes were some degree of a dogleg. Lots of par 3s and par 5s on the back 9 (3 of each). Actually a bit of a target course at times.
Biggest disappointment: We could almost never find the red, white, and blue 100, 150, and 200 yard markers. We even drove our cart up and down both sides of the fairways looking for them and usually found nothing the whole way to the green. I don't know if they had already started removing these since we were playing late in the year (early November) or if they were really hidden somehow. We only found like two red markers and two blue markers the whole round, didn't see any white markers. Made club selection more of a guessing game, especially since it was our first time playing this course.
But overall, very pleased with the course and would definitely come back to play it again.

Greens and pace
This is a course my boyfriend and I love and play at least 1 time a week. Yesterday's round was by far the worst round. Course pace was very slow waiting for every shot. The greens were horrible. Very bumpy. Could not get a nice roll on any of the greens. Bumps slowing putts down, bumps changing the direction of the putt. Very frustrating. Love the course but not happy with the greens. Hoping this improves .
Too many leagues...
Seems like there are a lot of leagues and tournaments at this course. I would be frustrated to have to play here all the time. The course is always in nice condition. The head pro is very nice. Some of the others, not so much. They give you the feeling that you are an outsider...Great Pizza at the bar, though! Bartenders are friendly, too!
I would blow up Hole #5. Horrible design on an otherwise nice layout.
Great time
The course was in real good shape. This is a fun challenging course for all different type golfers. The cart girl was very accommodating and accessible throughout the round.
Had a great day of golf!
Course was well maintained. Greens were well kept and fast. No bad fairway lies, they were well kept as well. Friendly helpful staff. There was no one selling drinks of any kind on the course, but did see people carrying coolers into the lounge. They may have some to use on course and you buy your beverages before going out to play, though not sure. Would definitely recommend if you have never played there before!
Slow day at the Course
Normally a great course to play, unfortunately par pace was severely affected due to a tournament that was being held that day. 18 holes walking took almost 5 1/2 hours.
great course !
Awesome course .... had great time . Staff very nice.
letting 5 somes out is killing your course
Even for the Last minute rate this was not value for the money. This course let 2 groups of 5 out on the course (1 group on each 9) and I waited on every hole. Very slow play. I eventually paired up with 2 senior ladies who said they do this here all the time. probably will not play this course again because of this. Sad because I do like the layout of this course.
Give it a few shots!
First of all I liked the staff when I came in...The course is in pretty good shape...They should tell the golfers to repair their ball marks on the green...I will be back again since it is an interesting place to play...
A great day on the course
I really like this course. It's a nice mix of holes that challenge all levels of golfers. Some of the greens are very tough if the pins are placed in difficult locations. The course has mature trees that line many of the fairways. Water comes in to play on several of the holes. We had a very enjoyable day. I will definitely play here again.
