The Rose is no diamond in the rough. it's flawless!
Played the rose with two guys that hadn't played in years. Also my brother in law who is fighting stage four liver and colon cancer. We took a long time but the people running the Rose were more than accommodating. Can't say enough good things about the staff nor the course. Every hole was challenging,and looked like a different post card. I will be back many more times.
Don't read this
I'm afraid too many people will start showing up. The location of this course keeps it from being overrun by other golfers. Cut into a mature forest, almost every hole has a spectacular layout with undulating fairways. The par 3 holes are reachable, but don't be long. Reeds/cattails are strategically placed on several holes. The only area of improvement I can offer is the approach taken by the person taken in the beverage cart. She should be trained so that she remains parked while golfers are in the midst of addressing their ball wherever they are on the course. Drive up either before the ball is being addressed or immediately after the shot is taken.
This course makes you work.
The fairways are mowed narrow but the grass is thick. The par 3's make you think before your tee shot. Tee boxes could use some work-not many flat spots. Water in play on 3 par 3's . Great elevation changes.
Hidden gem
The Rose seems out of the way, but really easy to find and worth the drive. Putts rolled very nicely. Nice changes in elevations. Quite a few very tight fairways which makes it a challenge. From the tips, a couple of very long and challenging par 3s. My wife and I enjoyed the course and will definitely make a return trip.
