Should be Better
The course has a nice layout but improvements should be made. First off, no drinking water on the course and no water in the ball washers! It was 80 degrees out! Pace was slow and no rangers to monitor play. Greens and tee boxes were fine but fairways were brown and very little grass in some spots. Club house personnel were very friendly.
Hilly and quirky
The Pointe is quite hilly and as a result there are a few quirky holes in particular, 5, 9 & 16. From the back tees 5 had about a 220 yard carry over a cement retaining wall above a creek. 9 had a blind uphill tee shot and it appeared that the 150 yard marker was on the right side of the fairway next to some trees…the tee shot demands a fade. 16 wasn’t too bad off the tee but the second shot was to a divided two level fairway with the right side elevated way above the left side and any shot down the fall line will run off into a small cree…keep it right! . Other than that the course was fun and the greens rolled nicely even though they had been aerified and sanded recently.
The course was unplayable due to prior heavy rain
The course should have been closed for the day due to extremely wet conditions and aeration the prior day. There was standing water throughout the course and due to cart path only, our golf shoes were soaked as we plodded through the mush!!
Big Cedar quality but affordable
Top notch course regardless of price but you can’t play a nicer course for what they charge. Greens were in prestige condition and rolled flawlessly. The course offers many scoring opportunities while also providing many challenges if you miss in the wrong spot. Loved the GPS in the cart so I never had to guess on my yardages or pull out my range finder. Staff was very friendly and I would recommend this course to any golfer in the area!
February golf
Surprised how even the greens were for mid Feb golf. I wasn’t expecting the coarse to be in as playable as it was. I like the layout with lots of elevation changes and variations in the hole layout. Positive round started out with a great attitude in the club house at check in.
Not up to par
Not the best condition the course has been as in the past. Overpriced for current conditions of being under construction with temporary greens, shortened tee boxes, and temporary tee boxes on the fairways. Hope to see improved conditions next year, I will play it again.
"The Hills Are Alive ..."
Nice course, but so many hills. At my age (and condition), pretty tough.
