This course provides nice features.
This course provides a moderate amount of challenge. It offers many features including ball washers at every tee box and club washers at many. Several rest rooms are located throughout the course as well as storm shelters. The course features well manicured fairways and firm greens. Several bunkers and water hazards provide extra challenges.
great little course
Everything about this experience was good from the cashier to the beer girl to the course conditions but there must b something about the ranger guy. Probably just a bad day for him or something. Got something up his you know..
St clairvoyant shores golf
Conditions were excellent for the month of September. The greens were like putting on new greens. The fairways were in great shape and we'll manicured. 5 star.
Nice course
This is a nice course for the periodic golfer. Has some challenges, but not too hilly or challenging for the duffer.
public
Normally i have a pretty good overall experience at this course. However this particular day seemed to be way off. The front nine played so slow due to the pace of two sets of golers in front. The cart girl was rude and only followed up with us once in 5 hours.
Nice course
Played after a lot of rain course holds water very well greens rolled great. Kinda pricy for the course on a weekend but all in all pretty good
St Clair Shores Golf course
Course was well Manicured, play moved right along.
i would play this course again.
Challenging and Fun, bit of a shorter course.
Shot my best round ever. Course was in great condition and very green. No flooded areas and consistent green speeds. I think my score benefited from the relatively short par 4s, but you srill have to hit the shots right? I'll definitely be back as it was challenging and fun.
Great Shape,,,But
The course was in great shape except for the traps,,they played like most courses in the Detrot area. Hard like cement.
Slow
The course was ok but as usual they book tee times so close together that it took almost 6 hours for 2 people to play 18 holes. We are ok golfers scoring 88 and 95 for the round. There is no reason that it should take that long. They could use a ranger on the course in order to keep the pace and move groups of people around if they are slowing everyone down. For the money they charge it is not worth it.
greens
greens were well kept. fast friendly service. had no problems getting off. always a cart girl
Need rangers on course
Fine condition, slow greens, but in fine shape, only problem was slow play, had to wait on every shot.
Always Slow
I have golfed here for years and play is usually slow for this course. It is an easy course. The bunkers and greens are well maintained for a public course. The course is usually fairly crowed and it usually takes a half hour longer than it should.
Always Over Booked
Always over booked on weekends. Be ready for a 5+ hour round on the weekends.
Standard SCS
Course was in good condition per usual. Fairways and greens are always well maintained considering its a city course. The one knock on this course has always been either the way that tee times are stacked up, or the inability to move people along once they get out there, but as long as I've played it, waiting on every tee box is pretty standard procedure.
The course itself is not overly challenging, but there are some narrow fairways, some small greens to aim for and some required target shots. It probably won't excite you, but its good for a tune up round.
Average
I think the course is average. It plays relatively short and an average golfer can comfortably play irons off of most of the tees on the par 4's. On this particular day, the pace of play was pretty slow. We found ourselves waiting on the tee box for most of the holes. I probably would not pay more than $20-$25 to play this course. With all the different discount golf websites, it is worth paying an extra $5 - $10 dollars to play a nicer course. The course is conveniently located if you are an east sider, where golf courses are few and far between.
Attractive and reasonably challenging local course
Very nicely maintained and landscaped course. Conveniently located in suburban area for local golfers.
Great public course but it really needs rain
Great public course if you have a decent amount of patience for less-than-average-skilled golfers ahead of you. The pace of play is great generally but there is a series of consecutive longer holes on the back-9 where less-skilled golfers will get caught up and hold up the players behind them.
WARNING FOR BAD SLICE/HOOKS: first few holes are near condos, and some holes on the back 9 are near the highway, so I wouldn't recommend this course if you don't have some decent control over your drives.
A public course so expect the usual drunk 20-somethings on weekday afternoons. Had to help two inebriated buffoons move their cart off a curb they somehow got stuck on.
Holes 1 and 12 have greens under construction, making them 30-40 yards shorter than normal, and use fairway greens. Consider Hole 1 a practice hole given the terrible replacement, and Hole 12 is a 90-yard Par 3 from the blue tees. Hopefully 12 will come back soon, since it's one of the more fun and challenging holes given the traps that surround the real green. The other 16 greens are in okay condition and have fairly challenging runs for moderate golfers.
Not a ton of hazards, so low risk of depleting your extra ball reserve, although there are a few holes with some precarious water placements.
Random perk - the beer cart accepts debit/credit, so you don't have to worry about cash-on-hand to whet your whistle on the course.
