This course has everything you need.
This course is well maintained, it has bent grass fairways kept clean. Rough gets deep at times. Lots of water challenges. Basically fun to play it does get pretty busy at times and play can be slow during prime time. I do like this course close and convenient.
Course Conditions
The course was in great conditions for fall golf, the greens were in good shape for November golf
Course in fine shape.
Aside from the expressway noise and the workers using manure in a certain spot, things were as good as could be expected.
Perfect greens in november
It was a beautiful 75. The sun was shining. The pace was excellent. The Greens were very impressive. Smooth as silk fast and steady. I've played there many times. I didn't shoot great but I loved every minute. Just beautiful green everywhere. They even had the drink cart rolling.
playing here forever
I played at Saint Clair Shores for almost twenty years ago. It has always been a solid choice
First Timer - Great Time For All
My first time at this course was eventful. I was paired with a 16 year old phenom with a great future named Trent. First drive he hits the ball 289 yards! We caught group ahead of us on next tee and joined up with Greg and Jackie both excellent golfers. A fifth joined us, too, named Rayno. He made our day by knocking one in for a hole in one on # 5. It was an awesome shot. 4 iron into the wind from 185 yards! I'll be back again.
Short Course
The course is a tight short layout like many of the courses in the area. The grounds are maintained well, unfortunately the players do not repair their pitch marks and at twilight the pace of play can slow to a crawl as you wait on novice golfers.
challenging
Great course if you have your distance right and you hit some what straight.
Nice course - great value!
Nice course - great value!
Good pace of play.
Couldn't Even Get Out on Time
Per usual, SCS packed their tee sheet to the max, so much so that our tee time was estimated to be 45 mins to an hour behind. Impossible to play this course when they do that. The convenience of the location goes out the window for a wait like that before teeing off, let alone what would have been a 6 hour round (at least). I wish they would provide a nice round of golf, even at an increased rate, but stop jamming the course. We took our refund after being told about the backup and contacted GolfNow for a refund as well. Will not be going back to SCS until they can figure out how to properly manage the corse.
short, tight course
This course is short, tight, sandy, with great greens. I paid the hot rate of $14 for 18 holes and a cart, and would say that is the right price. Not sure I would pay the full rate, because the course is pretty slow. The greens were in great shape, and ran true and fast. I would recommend someone try the course at least once, so you can say you played that course you can see along I-94.
Hi Jay,
Thank you for complimenting the course conditions. We are very sorry the pace was not to your expectations. We here feel like we provide a great product at a fair price. We do hope you decide to visit us again soon. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at (586) 294-2000 ext. 2.
Thanks!
Slow Play
Although the green fees were great, it took us over 5 hours to play. If the foursomes in front of us walked any slower they would be going backwards!
We do apologize the pace was not to your expectations. Please don't hesitate to ask our staff if you see some noticeably slow play occurring on the course. If you would like to discuss your experience further please give Rob a call at (586) 294-2000 ext. 2. We do hope to see you again. Good luck out there this season!
March golf
Course in good shape considering all the rain and morning frost. Enjoyable round!
This course provides nice features.
This course provides a moderate amount of challenge. It offers many features including ball washers at every tee box and club washers at many. Several rest rooms are located throughout the course as well as storm shelters. The course features well manicured fairways and firm greens. Several bunkers and water hazards provide extra challenges.
great little course
Everything about this experience was good from the cashier to the beer girl to the course conditions but there must b something about the ranger guy. Probably just a bad day for him or something. Got something up his you know..
St clairvoyant shores golf
Conditions were excellent for the month of September. The greens were like putting on new greens. The fairways were in great shape and we'll manicured. 5 star.
Nice course
This is a nice course for the periodic golfer. Has some challenges, but not too hilly or challenging for the duffer.
Rich,
Please give Rob a call at (586) 294-2000 ext. 2. The course was very busy that day, however the first tee was running at no more than 15 minutes behind at any point. It may have looked behind due to the amount of people waiting at the first tee. If you did not see the starter I would encourage you to see them next time to make sure you get put into your correct time slot. We would love to have you back another time, good luck and enjoy the rest of the golf season!
