Great course!
Love the course. I happen to play it at the end of league so it was playing slow, but the course was a very fun track.
Very Enjoyable.
We thoroughly enjoyed Emerald Vale. Nice variety of moderately and very challenging holes, yet fair. The elevation changes and paths through the woods between holes of fun up-north courses, yet fairways that allow some forgiveness for less-than-perfect tee shots (but not much). A few greens had spots of grass disease problems, but improved over our visit one month ago and didn't cause any problems. I look forward to playing this course again.
Disappointed
I have played this course many times, and have often called it a "diamond in the rough." However, after playing it for the second time this year, I have to say... it was just rough this time. The course had been WAY over-watered, and was extremely soggy, making many balls unplayable where they landed even in the fairways. Many of the tee boxes were covered in dandelions and other weeds, and some of the sand traps were even holding water. It's sad, because this course could be a true gem if it was properly tended. I won't be back until it's in much better condition.
Love the layout - lots of elevation changes. The staff couldn't have been nicer. However, the upkeep is missing, especially on the front 9. Weeds all over everywhere, all over the fairways. Either they lack a maintenance staff or just can't afford it. It's a real shame because it is a beautiful course. Played here 6 years ago, and the conditions were pristine, so maybe they just took a hit from Covid.
Outstanding
The course is very challenging but playable and fun
One of my favorites.
We were very happy and excited about playing this course and happyer after the round
.
Fun Course, Slow, but Fun
The back 9 was worth the price of admission alone. A bit slow, but the weather was perfect and we had a great time. Price is right too. Enjoy.
Surprisingly suprised
1. Great customer service
2. Pace of play turned out to be great.. came up on two groups in front of us and the both let us play through
3. A few greens were rough and the greens weren't consistent throughout the round
4. Great layout.. tough long par 4s, and a few short (thank goodness) ones. Lots of doglegs to both sides. Bunkers were turned into ponds (due to the rain the night before). Fairways were in great shape.
5. No beverage carts though (I'm sure due to being a Thurs, but it was very busy and warm so they could have made a mint).
6. Loved the tee box on 14
